Newcastle United Betting Odds

Try keeping up with Newcastle United. Since that Wembley afternoon, almost every certainty has been kicked away. Isak went first. A bottom-half finish followed, then the manager and four more senior players.

Now it is Matthias Jaissle's turn. He inherits a younger-looking squad, six summer arrivals and a season without European football. It could be a reset. It could also take time.

Newcastle betting odds at BetVictor cover league games, the domestic cups and season-long markets. Upcoming fixtures sit in the football betting section.

Newcastle United Premier League Odds

So, where do Newcastle fit this season? That is tougher to judge than it was a year ago.

Twelfth place in 2025/26 pulled expectations back towards earth. Then came the summer rebuild. Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon and Kieran Trippier have gone, leaving Jaissle with a very different dressing room.

The outright market is not limited to the title. Beyond picking the champions, you can look at Newcastle for the top four, top six or top half. Relegation is usually listed as well. Want the wider picture? Put the Magpies beside the rest of the division on the Premier League odds page.

There is one obvious benefit to missing out on Europe. More work can be done on the training pitch, and fewer midweek trips should mean less rotation. Enough to replace all that departed talent? We are about to find out.

Can Newcastle United Win the Premier League?

Never say never? Fine. The evidence still makes a title look like a long shot.

Newcastle know what a challenge feels like. Keegan's entertainers nearly pulled it off in the 1990s. Howe's best Newcastle side came fourth in 2022/23. Jaissle, though, starts with a side being pieced back together.

Isak left for Liverpool in 2025. Tonali, Guimaraes and Gordon followed him out a year later. Between them, those players supplied goals, control and personality. Replacing names on a team sheet is one thing; replacing their influence is another.

No European schedule gives the new manager breathing room. St James' Park can still make life miserable for visiting teams, too. A push towards the European places is believable if the newcomers settle. Going all the way would require that rebuild to work almost immediately.

For the outright pecking order, the Premier League winner odds put every challenger in one place.

Newcastle United 2025/26 Season Review

And after the high of 2024/25? A season that never found its feet.

The Isak saga swallowed much of Newcastle's summer. By the time his move to Liverpool was completed, the squad looked unbalanced and the league campaign had already begun. One win and three goals from the opening six matches told the story.

For a while, things clicked. Late November through January brought Newcastle's best run. Then it faded. The final line read 12th and 49 points: 14 wins, seven draws, 17 losses. That was their lowest league position under Howe.

The table was bad. Losing twice to Sunderland felt worse. The promoted Black Cats took both derbies, even the one at St James' Park. Nobody on Tyneside needs reminding how those afternoons felt.

At least Europe gave supporters a few nights to enjoy. The Champions League lasted until the last 16. Barcelona took it from there, winning 8-3 on aggregate. Camp Nou supplied the ugly part: 7-2 on the night. Getting that far still gave the travelling support something from the season.

Manchester City closed the other two routes to a trophy. Fifth round in the FA Cup. Semi-finals in the EFL Cup. City stopped them both times.

July brought the end for Howe, just short of five years after he arrived. He left behind a Champions League campaign and, above all, that 2025 EFL Cup. Whatever went wrong last season, that is quite a legacy for Jaissle to follow.

Newcastle United Transfer News

Forget a quiet refresh. Newcastle's 2026 summer was open-heart surgery.

The list below only includes completed first-team moves at the time of writing. Transfer rumours have been left out.

Main Incomings

  • Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim
  • Aladji Bamba from Monaco
  • Amar Dedic from Benfica
  • Lukas Hornicek from Braga
  • Sean Steur from Ajax
  • Ewen Jaouen from Reims

Main Outgoings

  • Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur
  • Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal
  • Anthony Gordon to Barcelona
  • Kieran Trippier to Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • Matt Targett to Hull City
  • Joe White to Crewe Alexandra
  • Odysseas Vlachodimos to Sevilla on loan
  • Harrison Ashby to Luton Town on loan
  • Emil Krafth released
  • John Ruddy released

Dedic already knows Jaissle, having played under him earlier in his career. That familiarity should make one transition easier. The rest of the squad will be learning the coach's high-energy, vertical approach together.

Plenty of potential has arrived. So has risk. Several recruits are young, while the footballers leaving knew the Premier League inside out. The door had not quite shut when this was written, so the list may yet grow.

A Brief History of Newcastle United

Newcastle's story did not begin with the 2021 takeover. Not even close.

The club grew from Stanley FC, which became Newcastle East End. In 1892, East End took on the assets of Newcastle West End and adopted the Newcastle United name. St James' Park has remained home ever since.

The first golden period arrived before the Second World War. Between 1905 and 1927 came four league championships. The first of their six FA Cups arrived in 1910. Different eras gave Tyneside Milburn, Keegan and Shearer. Nobody has scored more for Newcastle than Shearer.

Then came the wait. After the 1955 FA Cup, the domestic cabinet stayed untouched for 70 years. Howe's players finally opened it again by beating Liverpool at Wembley in 2025.

Seventy years explains the tears in the stands that day. Support did not disappear through relegations, unpopular ownership or near misses. Money changed what people expect from Newcastle, but it did not create the bond between the club and the city.

Recent Newcastle United Premier League Finishes

Here are Newcastle's ten latest completed seasons in the Premier League. Wondering where 2016/17 went? Newcastle were downstairs, winning the Championship and returning immediately.

Season Position Record (W-D-L) Points
2025/26 12th 14-7-17 49
2024/25 5th 20-6-12 66
2023/24 7th 18-6-14 60
2022/23 4th 19-14-5 71
2021/22 11th 13-10-15 49
2020/21 12th 12-9-17 45
2019/20 13th 11-11-16 44
2018/19 13th 12-9-17 45
2017/18 10th 12-8-18 44
2015/16 18th 9-10-19 37

The jump from 11th to fourth showed how quickly a season can change on Tyneside. The fall from fifth to 12th did the same thing in reverse. Newcastle are not an easy team to place before Jaissle has managed a competitive game.

Newcastle United Match Betting Markets

The menu changes from game to game. These Newcastle markets tend to be the familiar ones:

  • Match result: Choose Newcastle, the draw or their opponents over 90 minutes.
  • Double chance: Newcastle or draw, for example, covers two results instead of one.
  • Both teams to score: A yes selection needs Newcastle and the opposition on the scoresheet.
  • Total goals: The final combined score must land above or below the displayed line.
  • Handicap: Newcastle or their opponents start with a made-up head start for settlement purposes.
  • Goalscorers: Back somebody to strike first, last or at any point, if those options are open.
  • Player markets: Shots one week, cards or assists the next. It depends on the fixture.
  • Bet Builder: Join several compatible ideas from the same game.

Cup wording deserves a second look. A standard match-result bet usually ends after 90 minutes. Team to qualify remains open through extra time and penalties.

Kick-off does not close everything. Selected games continue under live betting. Scores and prices can jump after one tackle or one swing of a boot. Take another look at the slip before confirming.

Newcastle United Outright Betting Markets

Outrights take a longer view. This time, one Saturday afternoon is not the finish line. Newcastle must deliver over a season or an entire cup.

You might find Newcastle listed for the title, top four, top six, top half or relegation. Player awards can appear alongside them. Cup winner markets may also be offered.

Newcastle have enjoyed Wembley lately. First came the 2025 League Cup win. As holders, they got back to the last four. The FA Cup odds and EFL Cup odds show the current cup line-up.

Newcastle United Rivalries

Sunderland comes first. Tyne-Wear divides households, offices and a whole stretch of the North East. The league table does not soften it. Last season proved that.

Boro is the other regional rivalry, even if shared seasons have become less common. Liverpool and Manchester United bring noise and history of their own. Local? No. The feeling is different.

Other Premier League Team Odds

Outright prices make more sense with something to compare them against. Try the Liverpool betting odds and Manchester City betting odds next. Both give Newcastle's outright position some context.

Frequently Asked Questions

Available Brighton betting markets depend on the fixture. Common options include match result, goals, both teams to score, goalscorers, cards, corners, handicaps and Bet Builder selections, while outright markets are available for eligible competitions.

Brighton winning the 2026/27 Premier League would be considered a major surprise. After finishing eighth last season, another push for European qualification may be a more realistic target, especially with UEFA Conference League commitments added to the schedule.

Crystal Palace are widely regarded as Brighton's biggest rivals. Matches between the two clubs are commonly referred to as the M23 derby.
