The current format involves a qualification phase, through the 2020-2023 ICC World Cup Super League tournament. Of the 13 nations competing, the top seven teams plus the hosts will go straight into the World Cup. They'll be joined by the two most successful of the remaining five that play-off in the 2027 Cricket World Cup qualifier.
Australia are the current holders and are the most successful side in cricket world cup history. Whether you fancy them, or the likes of South Africa, Pakistan, the West Indies or New Zealand we’ll bring you the full range of outrights as part of our Cricket World Cup Odds and Cricket Live Betting Markets. Who’s your money on?
The 2027 Cricket World Cup will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. This will be the second time South Africa and Zimbabwe have hosted the tournament (after 2003, when they shared hosting with Kenya), while Namibia will be hosting an ICC World Cup for the first time. Most matches will be played in South Africa, with key venues including The Wanderers in Johannesburg and Newlands in Cape Town, while Zimbabwe and Namibia host a smaller share of the fixtures.
The 2023 Cricket World Cup was hosted by India and was the 13th edition of the tournament. Australia beat the hosts India by 6 wickets in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 19 November 2023, with Travis Head's brilliant century (137 off 120 balls) securing him Player of the Match honours. It was Australia's sixth Cricket World Cup title, extending their record as the most successful nation in the competition's history.
India had been unbeaten throughout the tournament until the final, with Virat Kohli winning Player of the Tournament after scoring 765 runs (a single-tournament record) and Mohammed Shami winning the Purple Cap with 24 wickets.
