Assassin Star Slot Game Review

Assassin Star sends us to modern Japan, where Triple Edge Studios mixes neon skylines, cherry blossoms and a contract killer who seems very calm about the whole arrangement. We get a 5x3 setup, 25 paylines, stacked Wilds, three Ultra Link&Win symbol types, respins, row unlocks, multipliers and jackpot prizes. The assassin theme does most of the posing, while the bonus feature handles the actual workload.

Theme & Graphic

Assassin Star gives us a moonlit Japanese scene with a city glowing across the water, cherry petals drifting through the foreground and our lead assassin waiting near the reels with weapons ready. The setting aims for sleek action rather than subtlety, and we can’t say the game looks shy about its own neon habits.

The symbols follow the same direction. We see a motorbike, katana, target portrait, vase set, royal card ranks and the female assassin as the Wild. The background animation keeps the atmosphere moving, while shurikens and bonus effects add the more dramatic moments. We’d place the visual style among action themed online slots that prefer clean comic book energy over realism, which suits the premise well enough.

Payout Table

Assassin Star uses regular payline wins, with matching symbols paying from the left across adjacent reels. The card ranks sit at the lower end, while the action themed icons and Wild carry stronger values.

Special Symbols

  • Wild Assassin: The Wild substitutes for regular symbols but not for Ultra Link&Win symbols. Wilds may also appear stacked across all reels in the base game.
  • Ultra Link&Win Symbols: Gold, red and pink shuriken symbols feed different upgrade pots above the reels. Collecting 1 to 3 in a spin can trigger the feature, while 4 or 5 trigger Ultra Link&Win automatically.
  • Prize Symbols: Prize Symbols appear during Ultra Link&Win with cash values. Landing one resets the respin counter to 3 and helps unlock additional rows.
  • Jackpot Symbols: Mini and Minor jackpots can appear on Ultra Link&Win symbols. Major and Mega jackpot values grow through base game collections and can appear in bonus features.

Bonus Features

Ultra Link&Win Symbols

Assassin Star uses three coloured Ultra Link&Win symbols. Gold activates Star Strike, red activates Star Power and pink activates Star Storm. Each colour feeds a pot above the reels, and the symbol combination that triggers the feature decides which upgrades enter the bonus round.

Gold Star Strike can place symbols in 1x1, 2x2 or 3x3 sizes, raising the value of any symbols covered. Red Star Power can spin through prizes when the bonus begins and again when Star Power lands during the feature. Pink Star Storm adds symbols to empty positions, carrying cash prizes or fixed jackpot prizes.

Ultra Link&Win Feature

The Ultra Link&Win feature starts with 3 respins and an active 3 row area, while 5 additional rows begin locked. Prize Symbols carry cash values and reset the counter to 3 whenever they land.

Each locked row has a counter that drops whenever Prize Symbols appear. Once the counter reaches zero, that row opens. Row 6 can add x2 multipliers to blank positions, while row 7 can add x3 multipliers. Reaching row 8 activates the Top Spinner, which can award cash prizes, larger jackpot prizes or the Super Star Bonus. We get the familiar hold style rhythm here, but the row unlocking gives the round a clear ladder to climb.

Super Star Bonus

The Super Star Bonus takes place on a smaller area with 8 positions and begins with 3 spins. Cash prizes and jackpot prizes may land in the available positions, and every new symbol resets the counter to 3.

Filling all 8 positions awards the Mega Jackpot. The setup keeps the feature direct, which helps after the larger Ultra Link&Win round has already asked us to track rows, counters, upgrades and multipliers like a very tense spreadsheet with shurikens.

Hot Mode

Hot Mode can appear when Ultra Link&Win triggers with all three enhancements active. This version starts with a 5 row active area and only 3 locked rows.

Because fewer rows need to be unlocked, the feature reaches the upper section more quickly. Hot Mode also uses stronger multipliers, with x5 and x8 values available instead of the lower multiplier rows from the standard version. The rest of the round follows the regular Ultra Link&Win structure.

Jackpots

Assassin Star includes Mini, Minor, Major and Mega jackpots. Mini and Minor are fixed prizes, while Major and Mega can grow when Ultra Link&Win symbols land in the base game and increase a random pot.

The higher jackpot prizes appear through the bonus system rather than ordinary line wins. The Super Star Bonus also connects directly to the Mega Jackpot, since filling every position in that bonus awards the top prize.

Spin Mechanics

Assassin Star uses 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 paylines. Wins form from left to right across adjacent reels, and at least 3 matching symbols need to land on an active payline for a payout. The Wild Assassin can substitute for regular symbols, and stacked Wilds may appear on all reels during the base game.

The core slot structure stays traditional, but the bonus system brings in the heavier mechanics. Ultra Link&Win symbols are collected into three separate pots, and their colour mix decides which upgrades become active when the respin feature begins. Among modern online casinos, this one sits in the familiar cash prize respin family, with extra row unlocking and upgrade symbols doing the extra sharpening.

Similar Slots

A few related titles come to mind here, especially where cash prize respins, action styling or Games Global style feature systems are part of the appeal.

  • Bison Moon Ultra Link&Win: The closest mechanical relative, since the same Ultra Link&Win framework drives the bonus round through cash symbols and expanding prize potential.
  • Cash Spree Dragon: This one brings a different visual identity, but the cash collection focus makes the bonus rhythm feel like a useful neighbour to Assassin Star.
  • Don Hidalgo Ultra Link&Win: The theme moves into adventure territory, yet the Ultra Link&Win structure gives both slots a shared focus on prize symbols, respins and bonus escalation.

BetVictor’s Opinion

Our opinion is that Assassin Star is at its strongest inside Ultra Link&Win, where the row unlocks, coloured upgrades and Super Star Bonus give the game most of its identity. The base game stays fairly standard, even with stacked Wilds, so the bonus feature clearly carries the heavier brief. Apparently the assassin brought a full toolkit, while the regular reels brought a sensible jacket and left early.

The theme works well enough, though we wouldn’t call the presentation a major leap from older action slots in the same wider family. The Japanese city backdrop, shurikens and assassin characters do their job, but the mechanics matter more than the scenery. We’d place this among online slots for players who like hold style bonus rounds with visible progress and several upgrade routes.
