This edition was quite a historic one as it was the first time since 2013 that two Chinese Nationals battled it out across the baize at the Shanghai Masters.

The defending champion for the 2022 edition of the German Masters is Zhao Xintong beating Yan Bingtao 9-0 and swiping the £80,000 winner prize money.

But who will win the German Masters in 2023?

Thepchaiya Un-Nooh could be promising as he was the 2022 player that reached the highest break with 147.

Judd Trump has won the German Masters twice, in 2020 and in 2021, but he failed to qualify along with other star players, so what will it be for the 2023 German Masters? Will someone new be able to snatch the win? Or will the unlucky past runners up go for gold, like Jack Lisowki or Neil Robertson?

The total cash prize fund for the German Masters is £400,000, each split up into different categories:

• Last 16: £5,000
• Last 32: £4,000
• Last 64: £3,000
• Highest break: £5,000
