Catfish Hunters takes us to the Mississippi, where Nolimit City swaps sea fishing for freshwater chaos and a cast of characters who look one bad catch away from local legend status. Catfish Hunters uses a murky river setting with wooden details, fishing gear and a cast of comic characters named Stacy, Karen, Granny, Cletus and Bubba. The background keeps things fairly plain by Nolimit City standards, with water doing most of the visual work and the reels carrying the character. We’ve seen the studio go much louder, so this feels like the team packed a smaller tackle box. 

The paying symbols include rough wooden card ranks, fishing rods, nets, canned bait, hooks and drink cans. Special Symbols 

• Fish Symbols: Fish symbols can carry values of 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x, 20x or 100x. A Fish value pays only when the Fish lands inside an Electrical Frame. 
• Electrical Frames: One or more Electrical Frames can appear at the start of each spin. When a Fish lands inside one, the Fish value pays and all remaining Fish values double. 
• xWays Symbol: xWays can reveal any symbol except the Bonus symbol. They may reveal regular symbols in sizes from 2 to 4, or reveal one Wild or Fish symbol. 
• Imposter Wild: An Imposter Wild can land on any reel and transform into Stacy, Karen, Granny, Cletus or Bubba Wild, with each version changing the round in a different way. 

Fish And Electrical Frames 

At the start of every spin, one or more Electrical Frames can appear on random reel positions. When a Fish symbol lands inside an Electrical Frame, the Fish pays its displayed value. 

After a Fish value pays, all remaining Fish values are doubled. The global Fish multiplier shows how far those Fish values have increased, up to x1,024. That means Fish can become much stronger as the multiplier climbs, although they still need to land inside an Electrical Frame before paying. Very Nolimit City, really. First we find the fish, then we need the electricity, then we hope nobody asks about safety regulations. 

xWays 

xWays symbols can reveal any symbol except the Bonus symbol. When xWays reveals a regular paying symbol, the result can appear in sizes from 2 to 4. xWays can also reveal a single Wild or Fish symbol. 

If more than one xWays symbol lands on the reels, all xWays symbols reveal the same symbol. This can help build larger symbol groups or add more Fish and Wild activity to the grid. The feature gives the base game extra movement without changing the 243 ways structure underneath. 

Imposter Wilds 

Imposter Wilds can appear on any reel and transform into one of five Wild characters. Stacy Wild increases the global Fish multiplier by 2x, 4x or 8x. Karen Wild adds Electrical Frames to herself and adjacent positions. Granny Wild adds Electrical Frames to all positions on the reel area. 

Cletus Wild transforms all winning regular paying symbols into random Fish symbols. Bubba Wild goes further by transforming all regular paying symbols into random Fish symbols. These effects can change the shape of a spin quickly, especially when Fish values are already boosted or Electrical Frames are waiting on the grid. 

Dark Water Spins 

Landing 3 Bonus symbols triggers 8 Dark Water Spins. The global Fish multiplier from the base game carries into the bonus round, then halves on each new spin until reaching a minimum of x1. 

Each additional Bonus symbol adds 1 bonus spin. At the beginning of the round, one upgrade is awarded at random. Upgraded Bonus changes each added Bonus symbol from +1 spin to +2 spins. Upgraded xWays makes xWays reveal only a Fish or Imposter Wild. The +1 Electrical Frame upgrade adds a sticky Electrical Frame to the middle position of the reel area. 

Deep Water Spins 

Landing 4 Bonus symbols triggers 10 Deep Water Spins. This mode follows the same rules as Dark Water Spins, but starts with two random upgrades instead of one. 

That means the feature can begin with a stronger setup, depending on which upgrades land. The Fish multiplier still carries over and halves after each new spin, while Bonus symbols can still add more spins during the round. 

Overcharged Spins 

Landing 5 Bonus symbols triggers 12 Overcharged Spins. This is the strongest bonus mode because all three upgrades are active from the start. 

The round includes the improved Bonus symbol behaviour, upgraded xWays reveals and the sticky Electrical Frame in the middle of the reel area. The same Fish multiplier rules apply, so the feature still depends on landing Fish in useful framed positions while the multiplier remains meaningful. 

Catfish Hunters uses 5 reels, 3 rows and 243 ways to win. Winning combinations pay from left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. The game doesn’t use fixed paylines, so matching symbols can land in any position on connected reels. 

Regular wins come from the card ranks and fishing gear symbols, while the wider feature system works through Fish values, Electrical Frames and Wild transformations. Fish symbols don’t pay as regular symbols. Fish values, global multipliers, xWays and character Wilds all connect in useful ways, especially when frames and boosted Fish values line up. We like the three bonus spin modes because the number of Bonus symbols changes the starting strength of the round. The main drawback is that the theme could use more visual bite.
