Gates of Olympus Roulette Live Game Review

One of Pragmatic Play’s best-known slot themes is put on the live casino floor in Gates of Olympus Roulette. At its centre is a European roulette wheel with one zero, but this is far from a plain table game. Lucky Numbers can carry enhanced rewards, a Super Booster occasionally raises their values and one Bonus Number provides access to a separate slot round. Zeus presides over the action, appearing whenever the game shifts into its more dramatic moments.

Theme & Graphic

The studio has been designed as a temple on Mount Olympus, surrounded by clouds and an open pink sky. White columns frame the room, while bronze decorations, Greek patterns and burning braziers add warmth to the mostly pale set. Instead of sitting on a conventional wooden table, the wheel rests inside an imposing marble structure with an ornate metallic border. The atmosphere changes whenever Zeus becomes involved. Daylight gives way to dark storm clouds, lightning moves across the background and the flames around the wheel turn blue. A large animated version of Zeus then appears to announce the slot-based bonus action. These effects are theatrical without hiding the wheel or the important parts of the betting interface. Presenters are also dressed up for the occasion and add to the overall immersive experience of this title.

Payout Table

Most wagers follow the usual European roulette payout structure. The main exception is the Straight Up bet, which has a lower ordinary reward because it can qualify for Lucky Number multipliers.

Bet Type Payout
Straight Up 20:1 (up to 9,999:1 thanks to the bonus game)
Split 17:1
Street 11:1
Corner 8:1
Six Line 5:1
Column 2:1
Dozen 2:1
Red or Black 1:1
Odd or Even 1:1
1 to 18 or 19to 36 1:1
Lucky Number 50x to 250x
Super Booster Lucky Number Up to 2,500x
Gates of Olympus Bonus Game Up to 10,000x

Only Straight Up wagers can benefit from Lucky Numbers or lead into the bonus game. A Split, Corner or outside wager that includes the winning pocket is still settled at its listed standard payout.

Game Features

Lucky Numbers

Before the wheel is spun, the game can choose as many as seven Lucky Numbers. Each selected pocket is assigned a value between 50x and 250x. To receive that amount, the ball must land on the highlighted number and the wager must have been placed directly on that individual pocket. Simply covering it through a wider bet does not qualify.

Bonus Number

One of the numbered pockets is also marked as the Bonus Number for the round. If it wins, an eligible Straight Up wager opens the Gates of Olympus Bonus Game. The selected number is displayed clearly before betting closes, so it can be distinguished from the other Lucky Numbers.

Super Booster

The Super Booster does not appear during every round. When it does arrive, Zeus applies an additional multiplier of between 2x and 10x to the Bonus Number and some of the Lucky Numbers. This can increase the largest 250x roulette multiplier to 2,500x. Lightning, blue fire and a change in the studio lighting accompany the sequence.

Gates of Olympus Bonus Game

Qualifying through the Bonus Number replaces the live casino table with a 6x5 slot grid. The round begins with 15 spins and uses a pay-anywhere system rather than fixed lines. Eight or more matching symbols must appear in view to form an award. Winning symbols are removed through the Tumble mechanic, leaving room for a fresh group to drop onto the grid. Multiplier symbols may carry values of up to 500x and contribute to the total when they are involved in an award. Three or more Scatters add another five spins. The upper limit for the complete feature is 10,000x the qualifying wager.

Game Mechanics

The wheel contains numbers 0 to 36. Wagers are arranged on a digital table, although the wheel itself is physical and handled by a live presenter. Available inside bets include Straight Up, Split, Street, Corner and Six Line wagers. The outside section provides columns, dozens, colours, odd or even numbers and the two numbered halves of the wheel. A racetrack view can also be opened for neighbour and announced bets. Once the betting period ends, the presenter releases the ball and the result is shown on-screen. Previous outcomes remain available in the results display, but each new wheel spin is independent of those earlier numbers.

BetVictor’s Opinion

The bonus round is what separates Gates of Olympus Roulette from the many roulette games that simply attach multipliers to several pockets. Reaching a complete slot feature from a live wheel result is an unusual idea, and the storm effects make the transition feel suitably significant. The attractive marble studio also suits the Olympus setting well. There is quite a lot happening around the table, however. Multiplier panels, feature information and animated effects fill much of the screen, which may be excessive for anyone who prefers an understated roulette presentation. The ordinary Straight Up payout of 20:1 also needs to be noticed, as it is lower than the familiar 35:1 reward found in standard European roulette. This version is ultimately defined by its added features rather than by traditional simplicity.
