Samurai Fury from Playtech is a 5x3 slot that uses 20 paylines and features stacked Wild symbols alongside a Bonus Spins feature. Its main attraction is the way winning symbols can be removed during the feature, gradually changing which symbols remain available. 

Samurai Fury is one of those online slots that goes for a minimalist look with the simple 5x3 grid decorated with nothing but a Katana on each side. The background is a mountain range at sunset, nothing but the black silhouettes of the mountains and a sky in various tones, starting at deep blue and fading down to a light orange.  

The symbols, on the other hand, are extremely detailed, although the lack of animation is a bit of a let down. We definitely feel the developers missed an opportunity to add a bit of visual flair, but overall, the design works well. The minimalism extends to the sound design as well, with just the clang of weapons and grunts of samurais to bve heard as the reels spin. 

• Wild: The golden gong Wild substitutes for other paying symbols to help form winning combinations. It appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 and can land in stacked positions. 
• Scatter: The samurai symbol appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the base game and is used to trigger the Bonus Spins feature. 

Stacked Wilds 

The Wild symbol is one of the main features in Samurai Fury. It can land on reels 2, 3 and 4 and may appear stacked, potentially covering an entire reel.  

Bonus Spins 

Landing three Scatter symbols in the base game awards 10 Bonus Spins. The feature then adds a symbol-removal mechanic to proceedings. 

At the start of the feature, the paying symbols are displayed above the reels. When a winning symbol combination is formed alongside a Scatter on reel 5, the winning symbols are removed from play and crossed off the display. Those symbols will not return for the rest of the feature. 

A winning combination involving Wild symbols can also remain on the reels, while the feature can award an extra Bonus Spin when the required conditions are met. 

Samurai Fury uses five reels, three rows and 20 paylines. Winning combinations are formed by landing three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel.
