Play Penny Roulette

Penny Roulette is a digital casino table game designed by Playtech. Released in 2017, it uses the European version of roulette, with numbers 0 to 36 arranged around the wheel. There is no dealer or video stream involved, as every round is handled by the game software. Most of the familiar wagers are available directly from the main table, while a separate racetrack provides access to neighbour and announced bets. Despite the modest sounding name, the game offers a fairly detailed set of controls for arranging and repeating wagers. 

There is little in the way of a conventional theme here. Penny Roulette instead recreates the look of an established live casino table, using a dark-green playing surface and a large wooden wheel. Its polished rim, central spindle and clearly coloured pockets give it a traditional appearance. The wheel takes up much of the upper screen, with the betting grid spread beneath it. Once the round begins, the wheel and ball travel in opposite directions. The view moves closer as the ball loses speed, making the final few bounces easier to see. Winning numbers are then highlighted on both the wheel and the table. Some parts of the interface reveal the game’s age, particularly the chunky buttons and glossy menu icons. Even so, the information is generally arranged sensibly. Placed chips remain visible on the grid, the selected denomination appears beside the table and recent outcomes are recorded in a compact history panel. 

This game follows the usual payout structure for single zero roulette. Narrow wagers offer the largest potential return, while bets covering more numbers pay less. 

The zero stands outside the red, black, even, odd, low and high groups. It is also excluded from the dozen and column wagers. If zero is selected as a Straight Up bet, however, it carries the same 35:1 payout as every other individual number. 

Penny Roulette does not include bonus spins or a separate bonus round. Its extra features are table tools that make certain wagers easier to place or allow the next round to begin with fewer steps. 

Neighbours Table 

The racetrack can be opened when placing neighbour bets. After choosing a number, the player may include between one and five pockets on either side of it. The game then places one chip on every number covered by the selection. 

Announced Bets 

Three established roulette bets are also available through the racetrack: Voisins du Zero, Tiers and Orphelins. Each one covers a particular section of the wheel. Selecting any of them automatically spreads the required chips across the relevant numbers and splits. 

Table Coverage 

A small meter shows what percentage of the 37 wheel pockets is covered by the current wagers. This provides a quick overview of how broadly the chips have been distributed, although it does not indicate which result is likely to appear. 

Rebet and Double Controls 

Rebet restores the wagers placed during the previous round. Rebet & Spin does the same before immediately setting the wheel in motion. The Double control increases all active wagers when the permitted limits allow it, while Double & Spin combines that adjustment with the start of a new round. 

Undo and Clear Bets 

Undo removes only the most recently placed chip, which is helpful when correcting an accidental selection. Clear Bets removes every wager currently sitting on the table. 

Turbo Mode 

Turbo mode shortens some of the sounds and animations that normally accompany a spin. The result is reached sooner, giving the game a noticeably quicker pace. 

A round starts by choosing a chip denomination from the tray. Chips can then be placed in the centre of a number, across the line between two numbers or at the point where four numbers meet. Streets, lines, dozens, columns and the usual outside groups can be selected in the same way. The racetrack offers another method of building a wager. Rather than working from the numerical table, it displays the numbers in their physical order around the wheel. This is particularly useful for neighbour bets, since numbers that sit beside one another on the wheel are not normally adjacent on the main grid. 

Pressing Spin closes the betting period and sets the wheel in motion. When the ball reaches a pocket, the winning number appears above the table and is added to the recent results display. All qualifying returns are calculated automatically. Previous outcomes remain available for reference, although they do not influence the result of a later round.

Penny Roulette does not attempt to reinvent the table game. Its main strength is the amount of control available around an otherwise conventional wheel. The racetrack is practical when placing neighbour wagers, while the coverage meter gives a quick indication of how widely the chips have been spread. Visually, the game now looks rather old-fashioned. The wheel remains clear, but some of the menus and large circular controls are less refined than those found in newer releases. It also lacks the conversation and atmosphere associated with a dealer-led table. As a result, this version is more likely to suit those who want a traditional online casino roulette format without side games or unusual payout rules. The repeat and Turbo options are convenient, though they can shorten the pause between rounds considerably.
