League position doesn’t really do Crystal Palace’s 2025/26 season justice. They finished 15th with 45 points, which looks fairly ordinary on paper, then ended the campaign by winning the Conference League. Beating Rayo Vallecano 1-0 gave Palace their first European trophy and completely changed how the season will be remembered.
Domestic form was far less convincing. Palace scored 41 Premier League goals and conceded 51, with 11 wins from 38 matches. Jean-Philippe Mateta got 12 of those goals himself, so there were spells when the attack leaned pretty heavily on him.
Ismaïla Sarr had a different sort of season. His 21 goals in all competitions earned him the club’s Player of the Season award, and his performances in Europe were a big part of Palace’s cup run. The frustration was that those big nights didn’t always translate into league weekends.
There’s a new variable in 2026/27 too. Pierre Sage has taken over from Oliver Glasner, giving Palace a chance to reset without ripping everything up. Their home record should be worth watching, but so should the simpler stuff: goals per game, clean sheets and whether the scoring burden becomes a little more evenly shared.
