As far as online casinos and their catalogs go, we’re dealing with a sunny island setup where the quiet beach mood doesn’t survive long once the barrel starts collecting tokens. 

Tiki Tiki Boom gives us a tropical beach scene with sand, turquoise water, palm trees and a barrel with a fuse sitting near the reels. Subtle? Not exactly. We’re clearly meant to understand that paradise has accepted explosives as part of the décor. The main symbols are colourful Tiki masks, while the lower symbols use flower covered card ranks. 

The visual style is bright and direct, with a simple reel frame and a clean symbol set. The barrel to the side of the grid gives the base game its main bit of personality, especially as mini barrel tokens collect toward the Wild Boom feature. The soundtrack keeps the island mood light, while the bonus feature introduces more symbols and a wider grid. Among online slots, this one fits the tropical slot corner neatly, though with more fuse management than most. 

The lower symbols are J, Q, K and A, while the four Tiki masks sit above them as the higher paying symbols. The red mask is the top regular symbol, followed by blue, purple and green masks. 

Special Symbols 

• Wild Symbol: The Wild substitutes for regular paying symbols, but not for the Scatter. We get standard substitution here, which suits the payline setup without making the base game needlessly fussy.

Wild Boom 

Mini barrel tokens can appear on top of symbols during the base game. These tokens aren’t part of regular winning combinations, but they’re collected into the barrel beside the reels. 

The barrel can explode on any spin once tokens have been collected. When that happens, up to 15 symbols can be replaced with Wilds. The feature gives the base game its main burst of activity, because a quiet beach scene suddenly turns into Wild placement with a fuse attached. We respect the commitment to the title. 

Feature Upgrade 

The Feature Upgrade meter sits above the reels in the base game. Whenever 2 Scatter symbols land on the same spin, one token is added to the meter. 

Every 10 collected tokens completes one section of the meter and unlocks one row for Tiki Tiki Spins. Up to 4 extra rows can be unlocked before the feature begins, requiring 40 tokens in total. Once Tiki Tiki Spins have been triggered and completed, the meter resets. This gives the base game a longer term progress system beyond regular line wins and Wild Boom explosions. 

Tiki Tiki Spins 

Tiki Tiki Spins trigger when 3 Scatter symbols land. The feature uses an extended grid with 4 extra rows above the regular reels. The lowest extra row has 5 positions, while the three rows above it each have 3 positions. Locks block parts of these rows, although some rows can already be unlocked through the Feature Upgrade meter. 

The feature starts with 3 spins. Only special symbols or blanks can land, and whenever a special symbol appears, the spin count resets to 3. Coin symbols add values to the grid, with silver coins holding values up to 7x and gold coins holding higher values. 

The feature also includes several modifier symbols. The Collector combines all visible coin values into one coin. The Adder adds a multiplier value of 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x or 20x to all coins before disappearing. The Persistent Adder keeps adding its value on every spin until the feature ends. The No 1X Coin symbol removes the lowest coin value from the possible results. The Splitter divides selected coins into double or quad coins. The Key removes one lock from the extra rows. The Tiki Bomb removes all remaining locks and adds a random number of coins. The Doubler doubles the value of selected coins. 

Tiki Tiki Spins end when the spin count reaches zero or when every position has been filled. Filling all positions awards an extra prize, which gives the respin round a clear final target. 

Tiki Tiki Boom uses 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 paylines. Winning combinations form from left to right, starting on the first reel. Regular wins need at least 3 matching symbols on an active payline, with the highest regular values coming from the Tiki mask symbols. 

The base game has a direct payline structure, but the side mechanics give the reels more movement. Wilds support regular wins, mini barrel tokens build toward Wild Boom, and 2 Scatter symbols feed the Feature Upgrade meter. Three Scatters trigger the Tiki Tiki Spins feature, where the game moves away from paylines and into a respin setup with coins, keys, modifiers and locked rows. We get a fairly simple base game, then a bonus round that clearly packed a larger suitcase.

We’d have liked the main theme to feel a little less standard tropical, because palm trees and sand can only do so many press ups.
