Fate of Dead Blitzways Slot Game Review

Play'n GO has gone back to ancient Egypt again, though this time it has left the usual expanding-symbol playbook in the drawer. Fate of Dead Blitzways uses a changing reel setup, falling symbols, and growing wild multipliers, which gives it a slightly different rhythm from the studio’s more familiar tomb-raiding catalogue.

The game runs on five reels with between two and seven symbols landing on each one, so the number of winning routes shifts from spin to spin. It is still recognisably an Egyptian slot, just one that is trying to keep the pace a bit livelier. If you spend enough time around online slots, you will spot the familiar shape quickly enough.

Theme & Graphic

Fate of Dead Blitzways looks like Play'n GO found a spare Egyptian temple set and decided that would do nicely for the day. The base game is framed by pillars, warm torchlight, and hieroglyph-covered walls, all of which get the job done without making a huge song and dance about themselves. It is tidy, atmospheric, and a little plain.

The symbol art does more of the heavy lifting. There is some color and detail in Cleopatra, mask of a pharaoh, Anubis, and scarab while the royals of cards ensure simplicity at the bottom of the pay table. In the bonus game, the visual effects get better with bigger statue and a dark border on the reels. We cannot say that this is groundbreaking stuff, but it is quite neat and matches the typical Egyptian slot you’ll find across online casinos

Payout Table

Fate of Dead Blitzways uses a variable reel setup, but the pay symbols themselves are straightforward. The lower-paying symbols are the card royals, while the premium symbols lean fully into the Egyptian setting. Wins can form when matching symbols connect across adjacent reels.

9 0.10, 0.20, 0.40

Special Symbols

  • Wild: Wilds substitute for all regular symbols and help complete wins. If a wild is involved in a winning combination, the next created wild becomes a multiplier wild instead.
  • Multiplier Wild: Multiplier wilds increase the value of any win they are part of. When they keep getting used in wins, their multiplier value grows further.
  • Scatter: Three scatter symbols trigger the bonus spins feature.

Bonus Features

Cascading Wins

When a winning combination lands, those symbols disappear and new ones fall into place. If the fresh drop creates another win, the process continues. It is a simple enough feature, though it matters more here because it helps set up the wild system and gives the game most of its movement.

Wild and Multiplier Wild Progression

After every winning tumble, the game creates a wild in one of the empty spaces. That is the first step. If a wild then gets used in another win, the next one created becomes a multiplier wild instead.

That is where the feature gets more interesting. Multiplier wilds do not merely stand in for symbols, they also raise the total value of the win they touch. Keep chaining wins through them and the value can build further, so the feature has a nice sense of escalation without needing a dozen extra side mechanics cluttering things up.

Bonus Spins

Three scatters collected during a cascade sequence award 8 bonus spins. At the start of the feature, the game places a wild on the reels straight away, which gives the round a bit of momentum from the off rather than making you wait politely for something useful to happen.

During bonus spins, wilds behave differently from the base game. The multiplier value stays in play and can keep climbing when the wild helps create more wins. Scatter symbols can also add +1 extra spin during the feature, with the total number of bonus spins capped at 46. The explanation sounds slightly busier than the feature actually feels in play. In practice, it is a fairly clean round built around keeping those wild values alive long enough to matter.

Spin Mechanics

Fate of Dead Blitzways uses a changing reel structure where each reel can show between two and seven symbols. That means the number of possible winning routes changes on every spin. Wins form when matching symbols connect horizontally or vertically across at least three adjacent reels, which gives the game a layout that feels somewhere between cluster play and a standard reel system.

After a win, symbols drop into the gaps and can set off further tumbles. That part is easy to follow, and it is what keeps the whole thing ticking along. For players used to more familiar online slots, it takes a minute to adjust, but once it clicks, the setup feels reasonably natural.

Similar Slots

If you want a few games in a similar lane, these are worth a look:

  • Book of Dead: Another Play'n GO Egyptian slot, though with a much more traditional setup.
  • Eye of Horus Megaways: Just in case if you want another ancient Egypt game with a more obviously expanding reel structure.
  • Eye of Horus Rise of Egypt: One more Egyptian slot but with a more classic grid, without Megaways and Blitzways.

BetVictor's Opinion

Fate of Dead Blitzways is one of those slots that works well enough without ever quite shaking the feeling that we have been here before. The Blitzways system is decent, the wild progression gives the base game some purpose, and the bonus spins round can build nicely when the multipliers start behaving themselves.

What holds it back is that it never really pushes beyond being a solid variation on an existing idea. We can see the appeal, especially if you like cascading games with a bit of multiplier growth, but it does not make a huge case for itself beyond that. Still, there is enough here to keep it from feeling flat, and the core mechanic is more engaging than the backdrop might first suggest.
