Here at BetVictor News, we’ll be following the latest West Bromwich Albion stats throughout 2026/27 as James Morrison tries to turn last season’s late recovery into something rather more comfortable.
Albion officially finished 21st with 51 points after a two-point financial-rule deduction was applied to their on-field total of 53. They won 13 of their 46 Championship matches, scoring 48 goals and conceding 58. For a club that had spent much of the previous decade chasing Premier League football, it represented one of the lowest league finishes in their history.
The picture looked very different once Morrison stepped in. Albion put together a 10-game unbeaten run, with four wins, six draws and seven clean sheets securing their Championship status. Morrison had lost only one of his first 14 matches in charge when the club made his appointment permanent.
Goals remained harder to find. Aune Heggebø led West Brom with nine Championship goals, while Isaac Price followed with eight. No player reaching double figures rather neatly explains why so many matches remained tight.
That gives Morrison a fairly obvious benchmark for 2026/27. The defensive improvement arrived quickly under him, but finding more goals and turning draws into wins will be important if Albion are to move away from the bottom end of the table.
Results at The Hawthorns, goals scored and the gap to the relegation places should tell us plenty as the campaign develops.
