Here at BetVictor News, we’ll be following the latest Bristol City stats throughout 2026/27 as Michael Skubala starts work on the latest chapter at Ashton Gate.
Last season was a strange one for the Robins. After reaching the Championship play-offs in 2024/25, City slipped back to 12th with 62 points, winning 17 and losing 18 of their 46 league matches. Even the goal column refused to pick a side, with 59 scored and exactly 59 conceded.
There were good spells along the way, which probably made the eventual mid-table finish more frustrating. Bristol City were still sitting around the play-off conversation during the first half of the campaign before form tailed away badly enough for Gerhard Struber to leave in March. Roy Hodgson steadied things for the final seven games, but his role was always temporary.
Now Skubala gets the chance to put his own stamp on the side. His Lincoln team lost only five league matches on the way to promotion last season, so results at Ashton Gate and City’s defensive numbers will be particularly interesting as his ideas settle in.
For Bristol City, progress doesn’t necessarily need to mean an immediate promotion push. Closing the gap to the top six and becoming harder to shift when games get tight would already move them back towards where they were two seasons ago.
As 2026/27 unfolds, City’s wins, goals and clean sheets should give a much clearer indication of whether that rebuild is taking hold. You can compare their numbers with teams across England through our football stats hub, while Championship betting covers the division throughout the campaign.
