Here at BetVictor News, we’ll be following the latest Blackburn Rovers stats throughout 2026/27 as Tony Mowbray begins another spell in the Ewood Park dugout.
Last year became more uncomfortable than Rovers would have wanted. They eventually came home in 20th place on 52 points, having won 13 Championship matches, and spent rather too much of the campaign looking over their shoulders. Goals were part of the problem. Blackburn scored 42 across 46 games and conceded 56, leaving very little room for error whenever a match became tight.
That gives Mowbray a fairly simple challenge this time around: make Rovers a bit more threatening without losing the resilience that helped keep them in the division. A handful of extra goals spread across a season can change the mood quickly at this level, particularly when so many Championship games are settled by one moment.
There are players capable of providing them. Yuki Ohashi again ended last season as one of Blackburn’s main attacking threats, while Ryoya Morishita enjoyed a strong campaign of his own and was named the club’s Player of the Year. Keeping both involved regularly should give Mowbray a useful base in the final third.
Mowbray’s return adds another layer to the season. He already knows the club and Ewood Park well, but this version of Blackburn needs to move forward rather than simply repeat what worked during his first spell.
As the campaign develops, goals scored, results at Ewood Park and the gap to the bottom three should provide a useful picture of how much progress is being made. The wider football stats hub covers teams across the English game, while the latest Championship betting markets can be followed throughout the season.
