Once you know how to play, Baccarat is quite a simple game. The main objective is to predict whether the Player hand or the Banker hand will have a total closest to nine.
All bets are placed before two cards are dealt to the two hands (Player hand and Banker hand). The Player hand receives the first card, and the next card goes to the Banker hand. This is then repeated, so both hands have two cards each. You are able to bet on either hand.
Tens and face cards (Jack, Queen, King) all have a face value of zero, while aces are worth one. All other cards score their face value. If either hand scores more than nine, the score is adjusted by taking ten off the total.
Once all cards are dealt, the winning hand is calculated, and winning bets are declared. If the two hands are tied, no hand is declared the winner. Should the point total from the first two cards dealt be either eight or nine, it is called a “Natural Win”. At this point, the game is over, and all bets are cashed out.
