Who is favourite to win FA Trophy 2024?

Barnet are the favourites to win the 2024/25 FA Trophy, which is no surprise given their status as one of the favourites to win the National League. Holders Gateshead are considered a strong possibility to retain their title, while high-flying York City are also among the clubs with the shortest outright FA Trophy odds.

Solihull Moors are tipped for a top-half finish in the National League this season, so will be one to watch if they can put together a decent FA Trophy cup run and go one better than last season. Forest Green Rovers will also be there or thereabouts, and will be determined to finally secure the FA Trophy after being losing finalists twice before.

Hartlepool United, who played in League Two as recently as last season, could emerge as dark horses as they look to make a statement after a stuttering start to the season. Meanwhile Woking, who have won the FA Trophy three times, will certainly be wanting to add to their record total.

Who has recently won the FA Trophy?

Gateshead are the current FA Trophy holders, having won the competition in 2024. They'll certainly be one of the favourites again this season thanks to their recent form in the cup, having won last season and finishing as FA Trophy runners up to winners Halifax in 2023.

However, betting on the FA Trophy winner is challenging, as the competition is unpredictable. No club has successfully defended their title since Grays Athletic in 2005/06, and there has been a different winner in each of the last seven seasons.

Year Winner
2024 Gateshead
2023 Halifax Town
2022 Bromley
2021 Hornchurch
2020 Harrowgate Town
2019 AFC Fylde
2018 Brackley Town
2017 York City

Can Gateshead become the first team in 18 years to successfully defend their FA Trophy title? Or will we see a new name on the silverware? Lock in your predictions with BetVictor’s FA Trophy betting markets.
