The UK Championship is one of the biggest events on the snooker calendar and a key part of the sport’s prestigious Triple Crown series, attracting many of the world’s top players each year. It’s held at the York Barbican, usually across November and December, with the tournament regularly delivering drama, including huge breaks and plenty of storylines for fans to enjoy.

Snooker Odds UK Championship related are offered at all leading sports books, including BetVictor, who happen to sponsor multiple ranking events in the professional game. And, instead of it being a one-size-fits-all approach, there are many markets offered in the run-up to the UK championship beginning and during the tournament.
Outright betting, put simply, is who will win the UK Championship? The outright betting market for such a tournament is often explored before the first break of the competition, with many relying on the recent form of players, their rankings and their history at the UK Championship. Players such as Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump will likely be favourites, but defending champion Mark Allen will be out to defend his title.
Again, like outright betting, the match betting market is often popular before games begin, but it can be accessed for in-play betting purposes, too. UK Championship snooker odds will vary from player to player, akin to the outright market. So, for example, if defending champion Mark Allen comes up against a player outside the top twenty, the odds disparity will be huge. Whereas, in the later rounds, a tie between Allen and Ronnie O'Sullivan would see closer odds. This provides variety for bettors.
Highest break betting is especially popular at the UK Championship because players are out to secure not only the highest break but maximum breaks, too. Yes, it can help them on their way to success in the matches they play, but they can earn tens of thousands extra in the process, too. In 2022, there were no maximums scored, but China's Cao Yupeng recorded the highest break (144). It’s an exciting market, especially with players like O’Sullivan participating in the tournament, as he’s renowned for high and max breaks.
The 2025 UK Championship was won by Mark Selby, defeating the defending champion Judd Trump 10 - 8 in a thoroughly entertaining final to claim his third UK Championship title. The UK Championship is one of the longest-running and most prestigious ranking events in snooker, sitting alongside the World Championship and the Masters as part of the Triple Crown. It was held for the first time in 1977 and has since grown into a tournament that regularly features the strongest possible players, with many of the biggest names competing for the title each snooker season.
The next iteration of the event is scheduled to run across several sessions, starting on the 28th of November and continuing until the 6th of December 2026.
A tiered format, designed to mirror the structure used in World Championship qualifying, is used in the UK Championship Snooker event. Instead of all 128 tour players staring in a flat draw at the venue, the world’s top 16 are now seeded directly into the last 32, guaranteeing that they feature in the televised stages. As for the remaining 16 spots in the last 32, these are filled by players who successfully progress through the qualifying rounds.
Once the main draw gets underway, matches are played over the best of 11 frames from the last 32 right the way through to the semi-finals, with losing players immediately being eliminated from the event. The final is then played across 19 frames and two sessions, with the first player to reach 10 frames being crowned as the UK Championship winner.
While the exact line-up can always be affected by form, rankings, qualification results, and plenty of other factors, the UK Championship regularly features the best players in the world, which include:
