Brentford Odds to Win Premier League 2026/27

Tottenham crossed London with top-four ambitions and went home after a 3-0 hiding. Not a bad way for Brentford to begin year six in the Premier League.

The next Saturday brought less noise but another point. Keith Andrews' side led at Leeds, drew 1-1 and entered September unbeaten. Ninth last season suddenly feels more like a platform than a peak.

The outright board is less excitable. Brentford are 250/1 to win the 2026/27 Premier League, at the time of writing, so the market still regards a title challenge as a remote idea.

What would have to happen for that idea to breathe? This page gets into it. For the weekly matters of results, scorers and goals, use Premier League betting.

Latest Brentford Odds to Win the Premier League

The market sees a huge gap between Brentford and the favourites. Arsenal are defending champions, Manchester City have begun with two wins and several richer clubs expect to fight near the top.

That view will not bother Andrews. His team took Tottenham apart 3-0 through Keane Lewis-Potter, Vitaly Janelt and Michael Kayode. The win was organised and forceful.

Leeds created a different afternoon. Kevin Schade scored first, but the hosts changed shape and Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised.

Four points is a useful start, not evidence of a title bid. Open the Premier League winner odds and the scale is obvious: plenty of names separate Brentford from the summit.

Why Are Brentford Premier League Outsiders?

Last season brought Brentford 53 points; Arsenal banked 85. A difference that large is not repaired by pinching a couple of extra away wins.

The dressing room has changed as well. Jordan Henderson went to Chelsea. Mikkel Damsgaard, Mathias Jensen and Yehor Yarmoliuk followed him out of the midfield group, while Ethan Pinnock chose Coventry.

New arrivals need time. Sangaré has started encouragingly, but he cannot recreate several different players at once.

There is a depth issue too. Brentford can build a very good starting side, yet the title favourites carry international quality on the bench. Injuries to Igor Thiago, Nathan Collins or Caoimhín Kelleher would change Andrews' options sharply.

None of this points towards a poor season. It explains why a top-half push is easier to imagine than finishing above every club in England.

Can Brentford Win the Premier League?

Leicester demonstrated that the door is never completely locked. Brentford would still need the stars to line up in a similarly extraordinary way.

Andrews still has credit in the bank. His first campaign ended in ninth and included an EFL Cup quarter-final, despite the upheaval that followed Thomas Frank's departure.

Then there was Igor Thiago. Twenty-two league goals put him beyond every previous Brentford player in the Premier League era and into the PFA Team of the Year. One ruthless finisher can make an outsider dangerous even on a difficult afternoon.

Brentford are strong from set pieces, comfortable going direct and difficult to rush at the Gtech. They need not imitate Arsenal or City to beat them.

Doing so twice is one matter. Staying above both across 38 games would require far greater consistency, fewer injuries and career-best seasons throughout the squad.

Brentford's Summer Business

The biggest cheque went on the middle of the pitch. Mamadou Sangaré arrived from Lens for a club-record fee, fresh from finishing second in France and lifting the Coupe de France.

His ball-winning was visible immediately. Sangaré created Janelt's goal against Tottenham and helped control the first half at Leeds.

El Hadji Malick Diouf arrived from West Ham to strengthen the left side. Jannik Schuster adds another centre-back, while Jaidon Anthony offers pace and direct running from the wing.

Callum Wilson brings experience and finishing behind Thiago. His first competitive appearance produced a goal as Birmingham were swept aside 6-1 in the EFL Cup.

The exits leave work to do, especially in midfield. Brentford have again chosen change on their own terms, backing data and coaching to keep the level high.

Brentford vs Arsenal and Manchester City

Famous badges have not made Brentford timid. Arsenal were beaten on the opening night of the Bees' Premier League return. Two seasons later, Manchester City lost both meetings.

Useful memories, certainly. They offer no protection now. Arsenal defend with patience, whereas City can turn one loose clearance into five minutes spent around the box.

Brentford's set pieces can disrupt both. Collins, Thiago and Sepp van den Berg attack the ball aggressively, while good delivery makes every free-kick near the box valuable.

Schade, Lewis-Potter and Dango Ouattara can attack space behind an advanced defence. The harder task is staying precise after long spells without the ball.

The wider football odds put those match-ups and Brentford's longer season in the same place.

Brentford's First Premier League Fixtures

Tottenham's expensive rebuild was supposed to announce itself at the Gtech. Instead, Lewis-Potter struck first, Janelt doubled the damage and Kayode completed an utterly convincing afternoon.

The trip to Elland Road was less spectacular. Brentford led through Schade, but Leeds improved after the break and took a point.

Sunderland visit the Gtech on Saturday 5 September. Bournemouth away follows, before Chelsea come across west London on Friday 18 September.

The EFL Cup brings a trip to Reading. Andrews rotated against Birmingham and was rewarded with six goals.

Then Chelsea arrive. That evening should tell us more than a comparison of summer transfer bills ever could.

What Could Hurt Brentford's Title Chances?

Start with Thiago's fitness. Finding 22 replacement goals would trouble any club, never mind one without another forward at his peak waiting on the bench.

Wilson's minutes may need managing. If both strikers are unavailable, Brentford lose the central presence behind much of their direct football.

The rebuilt midfield creates another risk. Henderson led, Damsgaard invented and Jensen knew the club's rhythm after seven years. Chemistry cannot be purchased ready-made.

Pinnock's departure removes a defender who experienced the entire rise from the Championship. Schuster and the returning younger players must establish the same trust with Collins and Kelleher.

Finally, Brentford cannot rely on set pieces rescuing every tight game. They need enough open-play creativity when an opponent sits deep and refuses to leave transition space.

Where Can Brentford Still Improve?

Turning control into a second goal would help. Brentford had Leeds where they wanted them before half-time, yet the match remained within reach. One tactical adjustment changed the direction after the interval.

Fábio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo can create between the lines, while Anthony stretches a defence. Somebody must consistently connect midfield with Thiago.

There is room for a wider spread of goals too. Schade contributed seven in the league last season, but Thiago carried a heavy share. Lewis-Potter's opener and Kayode's finish against Spurs were encouraging signs.

Diouf adds crossing and athleticism from the left, plus competition for Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey.

The final improvement is simply seeing out leads. Leeds were allowed back into the match after Brentford had controlled it, turning an away win into a draw.

How Brentford's Title Price Can Move

Beating Sunderland would extend an unbeaten start and reinforce the strength of the Gtech. Bournemouth away then places Brentford against another well-run outsider with European ambitions.

Chelsea can produce a larger change. A home win over one of the market leaders would attract attention, particularly if Thiago opens his league account along the way.

Sangaré's adaptation matters as much as the results. If he dominates Premier League midfields quickly, concern about the summer departures will fade. Struggles would reopen questions about the balance around Janelt.

Thiago's form, injuries and January recruitment will all influence the price. So will the contenders. Dropped points for Arsenal or City can shorten an outsider without that club playing.

Any number printed in an article will eventually age. The live market and final bet slip remain the places to check.

Other Brentford Premier League Markets

There are more realistic ways to support a strong Brentford season than asking them to win the league.

Top four, top five, top six and top-half options may be listed. Improving from ninth into a European position would represent another step in the club's growth.

Thiago also belongs in the Golden Boot conversation after finishing only behind Erling Haaland last season. Goalscorer markets can move quickly after an injury, hat-trick or change in penalty duties.

Relegation markets turn the table upside down. See the Premier League relegation odds for the promoted teams, survival candidates and Brentford's place among them.

Brentford's Premier League Title History

The nearest Brentford have come to England's crown takes us back 90 years. In 1935/36, during their first top-flight season, the Bees finished fifth. No Brentford team has climbed higher.

What followed was not a steady life among the elite. The club slipped down the pyramid and spent 74 years outside the highest division. That wait ended at Wembley in 2021, when Swansea were beaten in the Championship play-off final.

Brentford have refused to leave. Thirteenth, ninth, 16th and tenth came before Andrews added another ninth-place finish in 2025/26.

The major cups have never gone their way either. Several FA Cup quarter-finals are the best runs in that competition, and three Football League Trophy finals ended in defeat.

Winning the Premier League would put the first major honour in Brentford's cabinet. It would also carry them one position beyond the celebrated 1936 side.

Back Brentford to Win the Premier League

Brentford's case begins with a team that knows itself. The manager, structure and core style have survived another busy summer.

It continues with Thiago, a 22-goal striker now supported by Wilson, Anthony and a midfield containing Brentford's record signing. Four points from Tottenham and Leeds show the new pieces are already contributing.

The opposing argument remains overwhelming. A 32-point gap must close, several experienced players have left and Andrews cannot match the depth available to Arsenal or Manchester City.

Brentford are 250/1 to win the Premier League, at the time of writing. That is the price of an outcome requiring far more than another respectable top-half season.

European qualification would be serious progress. A title would take Brentford beyond their 1936 peak.
