Play Cougar Blitz Slot Game

Playtech heads into the North American wilderness with Cougar Blitz, a six-reel slot built around cougars, wolves, deer, owls and snakes. Its 4,096-way setup is paired with free games where Wild multipliers can climb as high as 5x.

We feature Cougar Blitz among our slot games at BetVictor. One detail that separates its paytable from many similar titles is that every premium animal can pay from just two matching symbols.

Cougar Blitz keeps the focus firmly on wildlife. The cougar takes centre stage as the highest-paying regular symbol, joined by deer, owl, wolf and snake icons, while the lower-value card ranks are decorated with feathers and other wilderness details.

Warm reds and browns dominate the background, with brighter colours used to make the animals and card symbols stand out clearly on the reels.

• Wilds substitute for regular paying symbols and appear on reels 2 to 6.
• Three or more Scatters trigger the Free Games feature.
• Cougar, deer, owl, wolf and snake symbols can all pay from two matches.
• Card symbols need at least three matches to form a win.

Free Games

Landing at least three Scatters opens the Free Games feature. The number awarded depends on the Scatter result, with the starting total capable of reaching 100 free games.

Multiplier Wilds

Wilds become more valuable once the free games begin. They can carry multipliers of up to 5x, increasing any qualifying win they take part in.

Retriggers

The round does not necessarily finish with the original allocation. Two or more Scatters landing during free games can add extra games and keep the feature running.

The reels are arranged in a 6x4 grid, giving Cougar Blitz 4,096 ways to form combinations. Wins are built across adjacent reels rather than following a set of fixed paylines.

There is also a noticeable split between the two groups of regular symbols. Wildlife icons can start paying from two matches, whereas A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 need three or more. Wilds appear from reel 2 onwards, helping carry those combinations farther across the grid.

• Buffalo Blitz: Playtech uses a very similar formula here, including six reels, 4,096 ways, North American animals, free games and Wild multipliers. The two games are especially close mechanically.
• Buffalo Collector: Buffalo, wolves and other North American wildlife create an obvious thematic overlap. Its collection meter makes the feature structure more involved than the simpler free-game setup in Cougar Blitz.
• Wolf Gold: Wolves and the American wilderness connect the themes, but the formats are quite different. Wolf Gold uses a 5x3 grid, Money Respins and giant symbols rather than a 4,096-way reel set.

What we like about Cougar Blitz is that the larger grid does not come with an overloaded set of features. Playtech keeps most of the attention on the ways-to-win format, the unusually early payouts for animal symbols and the multiplier Wilds that arrive during free games.

That gives the slot a fairly clean rhythm. There is more room for combinations than on a traditional five-reel game, but the rules are not difficult to pick apart. Among the wildlife-themed titles in our casino games, we think Cougar Blitz will make the most sense to players who prefer multiway layouts without several meters, stages or side features competing for attention.
