Twin Buffalo: Hold and Win is another trip into buffalo country, because clearly the slot world still hasn’t run out of open plains, animal close ups, or stern looking wildlife staring at us from a reel set. Booming Games keeps things familiar here, but not entirely empty handed.

Twin Buffalo: Hold and Win sticks to a well worn North American wilderness theme, mixing buffalo, wolves, mountain lions, and eagles with a few Native American inspired decorative touches around the grid. It is not especially original, though it is clean enough and easy to read, which already puts it ahead of some games that confuse detail with quality. The buffalo itself gets the headline role, naturally, because these games do like to state the obvious. 

The presentation is darker and warmer than some of the brighter animal themed online slots around, with a slightly more serious tone. We get earthy colours, glowing coin symbols, and a reel frame that leans into the frontier look without becoming too busy. It is a familiar setup, but at least it knows what it is doing and gets on with it.

Special Symbols 

• Wild: The wild substitutes for all regular paying symbols except the Bonus and Coin symbols. It can also land in stacked form, which makes it more useful than the standard decorative wild that turns up, waves once, and leaves. 
• Bonus: The blue gem bonus symbol triggers the free spins feature when 3, 4, or 5 land. It also pays on its own.

Coin Collection 

Coin Collection is available in the base game only. A collector style symbol can land on reel 5 and collect the values of all visible coin symbols on screen. That gives the base game a bit more life, because coins are not only there to tease a future feature. They can still do something useful before the bonus side gets involved. 

Buffalo Bounty 

Buffalo Bounty also appears only in the base game. This feature collects coin symbols into a side pot for a chance to trigger Hold and Win. Once it triggers, extra coins are added to the reels. The stored coin count in the side pot does not directly improve the trigger odds, which is a slightly odd detail, but the mechanic still helps the game feel less static from one spin to the next. 

Buffalo Spins 

Buffalo Spins is the matching system for free spins. It collects bonus symbols into its own side pot for a chance to trigger the feature. When activated, it adds extra bonus symbols to the reels. Again, the stored symbols do not directly change the chance of triggering the round, but it gives the base game another visible thread to follow. 

Free Spins with Jumbo Symbols 

Landing 3, 4, or 5 bonus symbols awards 10, 15, or 20 bonus spins respectively. During the feature, jumbo symbols can appear across reels 2 to 4, which adds a bit more shape to the round than plain spins with no extra logic attached. 

A jumbo bonus symbol awards 3 extra spins. A jumbo coin symbol triggers Hold and Win and then splits into 9 individual coin symbols of the same value inside that feature. Jumbo Mini, Minor, and Major coin symbols do not land during free spins, which keeps the really large marked values out of that part of the game. 

Hold and Win 

Hold and Win starts when 5 or more coin symbols land. The feature begins with 3 respins, and all triggering coins stay locked in place. Any additional coin that lands is also held and resets the respin counter back to 3. 

The round ends when no respins remain, when all available positions are filled, or when the win cap is reached. At the end, all visible values are added together and paid. This is familiar territory for anyone who spends time around online casinos, but it is still a reliable mechanic when the setup around it is clear, and here it mostly is. 

Twin Buffalo: Hold and Win uses 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 fixed paylines. Standard wins land from left to right, with only the highest win per line paid. Mechanically, it is straightforward enough on normal spins, then gradually hands more responsibility to its side features and feature pots. 

That structure works reasonably well. The base game is not packed with constant action, but it is given enough little tasks through Coin Collection, Buffalo Bounty, and Buffalo Spins that it avoids feeling completely empty. Among online slots built around coins and respins, this one is not especially ambitious, though it is organised well enough to keep the moving parts understandable.
