Slingo Tetris Game Review

You’d think combining Tetris with Slingo would result in utter chaos. Instead, what you get is a grid-based nostalgia trap that’s surprisingly orderly. Slingo Tetris has that well established 1980s arcade charm with the slow-burn satisfaction of ticking off numbers on a bingo board. There are Tetriminos, there’s a prize ladder, and there’s even a bonus game with its own expanding grids. It may look like a retro throwback, but there’s a bit more going on under than you’d think.

Theme & Graphic

It’s Tetris. On a Slingo board. That’s it. The Tetrimino shapes fall into place, bright and blocky, while the rest of the game stays out of the way. The 5x5 grid sits calmly in the centre of a clean screen, and the soundtrack gives you the old arcade buzz. There’s no mascot or storyline to force your attention, just a minimal interface and sound effects that ping and blip as the numbers (and Tetriminos) drop.

Payout Table

Slingo Tetris doesn’t use traditional slot symbols for wins. Instead, you complete lines (Slingos) on the grid, each one climbing you further up the prize ladder. This is how that would look:

Special Symbols

  • Wild: Marks any number in the column where it appears.
  • Super Wild: Marks any number anywhere on the grid.
  • Free Game Symbol: Adds one extra spin at the end of the game.
  • Tetromino Instant Wins: Some tetrominoes come with their own credit values and award payouts when collected.

Bonus Features

Tetris Cluster Bonus

This feature unlocks if you complete three or more Slingos during the main game. It doesn’t interrupt gameplay, instead, it plays out after your round ends. Depending on how many Slingos you managed to line up, you’ll potentially get access to a bonus grid that increases in size and number of turns.

At 3 to 5 Slingos, you’re working with an 8x8 grid and 2 to 8 turns. From 6 to 8 Slingos, you move to an 8x12 grid with up to 12 rotations. If you’ve got the patience (and numbers) for 9 to 12 Slingos, the grid jumps to 8x16, with up to 16 turns. Each rotation allows new Tetrimino clusters to land, clear, and potentially trigger cascades for multiple potential payouts.

Game Mechanics

This online game uses a 5x5 Slingo grid where numbers are marked off as they appear on a single vertical reel below. There are 12 fixed win lines, and winning is based on completing lines either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Wilds and Super Wilds introduce player choice, allowing you to manually mark numbers. Free Games symbols extend play, and Tetriminos occasionally show up with credit values for additional wins. The grid doesn’t spin like a normal reel setup. Instead, the action plays out turn by turn in traditional Slingo fashion.

BetVictor’s Opinion

Slingo Tetris is exactly what it sounds like, no plot twists there. It’s tidy, smartly designed, and occasionally chaotic in a very calculated way. The Tetris theming doesn’t smother the Slingo format, which is a small miracle in itself. If you’re the kind of person who alphabetises their books or gets twitchy at irregular Sudoku grids, this one will probably keep you occupied. Available in the BetVictor Casino library where there are many games and online slots, this could use a few more sound settings, those arcade pings won’t suit everyone.
