It is also one of the rare major boxing nights where British fans don’t need to set an alarm for 4am. Sky Sports coverage begins at 7pm BST on Saturday 29 August, with Mayer and Cameron expected to make their ring walks somewhere between 9.30pm and 10pm.

The fight headlines MVPW-06, a Most Valuable Promotions card built around UK-vs-USA match-ups. Mayer arrives from the United States as the unified WBA and WBC champion at 154lb, with Northampton’s Cameron defending the WBO title she won earlier this year.

What Time Is Mayer vs Cameron in the UK?
Sky Sports starts its main television coverage at 7pm BST.
Before that, the preliminary fights will be available from around 5pm through the Sky Sports website, app and Sky Sports Boxing YouTube channel. Mayer and Cameron are then expected to walk to the ring between 9.30pm and 10pm, although the exact time will depend on how the earlier fights play out.
An early knockout on the undercard could move things forward. Several fights going the distance can do the opposite.
For that reason, I’d be in front of the television from 9.15pm rather than treating 10pm as a fixed start.

How to Watch Mayer vs Cameron in the UK
Sky Sports has the live UK rights to Mayer vs Cameron.
The main broadcast starts at 7pm, while the earlier preliminary bouts can be watched free through Sky Sports’ digital channels from approximately 5pm.
That gives UK viewers a very different setup from the Itauma-Hrgovic card taking place in London on the same evening, which is being shown separately on DAZN PPV.
MVPW-06 is also notable because the main card has been built around British fighters facing American opponents. Caroline Dubois, Terri Harper, Jessica Barry and Tysie Gallagher are among those representing the UK before Cameron gets her turn.
What Titles Are on the Line?
Three of the four recognised world belts at super-welterweight are involved.

The winner therefore leaves Birmingham holding three major belts, with only the IBF title currently held by Oshae Jones standing between them and undisputed status.

Mayer actually won that title alongside the WBA and WBC belts when she beat Mary Spencer in October 2025. She later relinquished the WBO version, leaving Cameron to claim the vacant championship against Michaela Kotaskova in April.
Now Mayer gets the chance to take it straight back from her.
Mikaela Mayer Record and Recent Form
Mayer arrives with a professional record of 22-2, including five stoppage wins.
Her last few years have been slightly chaotic in the best possible way.
She lost a disputed split decision to Alycia Baumgardner in London in 2022, moved through the divisions, then dropped another tight split decision to Natasha Jonas in Liverpool at the start of 2024.
Those remain the only two defeats of her professional career.
Mayer responded by beating Sandy Ryan for the WBO welterweight title in September 2024, then won their rematch six months later. She moved up again in October 2025 and produced one of her most complete performances, comfortably outpointing Mary Spencer to become a three-weight world champion.
There is one slightly strange trend.
Both of Mayer’s professional defeats happened in Britain.
She clearly isn’t bothered by that record because she has chosen to come back again.
Chantelle Cameron Record and Recent Form
Cameron stands at 22-1 with eight knockouts.
Her career will probably always be linked with Katie Taylor.
Cameron went to Dublin in May 2023 and handed Taylor the first professional defeat of her career, successfully defending her undisputed super-lightweight titles in the process. Taylor took revenge six months later by majority decision, which remains Cameron’s only loss.
Since then, Cameron has rebuilt quietly.
She returned with three wins at super-lightweight before making the jump to 154lb this April. Michaela Kotaskova was comprehensively beaten over ten rounds, with Cameron taking the vacant WBO title and becoming a world champion in another division.
The Taylor story isn’t disappearing either.

Cameron has already beaten one of the best fighters of her generation.
Saturday gives her the chance to do it again.
Why Mayer vs Cameron Is Such a Good Fight
There isn’t much hiding in this matchup.
Neither woman is particularly interested in spending ten rounds dancing around the outside of the ring.
Mayer likes to establish her jab and combinations, but she is perfectly comfortable staying close enough to exchange. Cameron is physical, strong through the middle of the ring and tends to look better when somebody gives her something to push against.
That could create a fight with very few quiet spells.
Mayer is slightly taller at 5ft 9in, while official listings give Cameron the longer reach at 69 inches compared with Mayer’s 66½.
Neither has ever been stopped professionally.
Their combined records show 44 wins and only three defeats, and every one of those losses went to the scorecards.
That probably tells us where the most likely route lies on Saturday.
Why Is Mayer vs Cameron Only 10 Rounds?
There was some debate around the rules before the fight was signed.
Cameron has been one of the strongest voices calling for women’s championship bouts to use three-minute rounds, arguing that female fighters should compete under the same timing as men.
Mayer held the WBC title, however, and the final agreement was for 10 rounds of two minutes each. MVP confirmed that format when announcing the fight in June.
That could have an effect tactically.
Twenty-minute championship fights leave less time to settle into a rhythm than twelve three-minute rounds. Losing two or three rounds early can become difficult to recover from very quickly.
There is less room for a slow start.

The undercard has changed during the build-up, most notably when Skye Nicolson withdrew because of an injury. The current line-up is still stacked, with Caroline Dubois defending two lightweight belts in the chief support.

Dubois-Moore is comfortably the biggest fight underneath the main event. Dubois puts her WBC and WBO lightweight belts on the line against an unbeaten American who is only four fights into her professional career.

Mayer is the favourite heading into fight week.
Across the current UK market, the American is generally priced around 4/11 to 4/9, with Cameron roughly 2/1 to 11/5 and the draw available at double-figure odds.
I would not hard-code an exact BetVictor price until you publish, because fight-week odds can move quickly and I couldn’t reliably surface the live BV event price from the public sportsbook crawl.

Mayer’s favouritism makes sense. She has looked excellent since moving through welterweight and into the 154lb division, and her win over Mary Spencer was particularly convincing.
Cameron’s price is more interesting than her record might suggest, though.
She has lost once in 23 professional fights, beat Katie Taylor in Dublin and now gets Mayer on British soil. Being the underdog does not make her a long shot.

Mikaela Mayer vs Chantelle Cameron Prediction
This feels much closer than the outright market suggests.
Mayer has been excellent lately. Her jab is sharp, her combinations are cleaner than they were a few years ago and moving through the weights seems to have made her more comfortable rather than slower. Cameron offers a horrible style to deal with, though.
She is strong, happy to work up close and rarely allows an opponent to coast through a round. Taylor discovered that in their first meeting. If Mayer spends too much time exchanging rather than making Cameron reset, the British fighter can turn this into a very physical contest.
The shorter two-minute rounds make clean starts especially important.
Mayer should have the edge at range, while Cameron probably wants the fight happening a step closer.
I can see both having long spells of success.
Neither woman has ever been stopped, both have extensive championship experience and ten two-minute rounds give a knockout less time to develop than a traditional men’s world-title fight.
That pushes me towards the judges.
Prediction: Mikaela Mayer to win by decision.
Not comfortably. A close decision would be no surprise at all.
What Happens After Mayer vs Cameron?
The obvious prize is undisputed.
Whoever leaves Birmingham holding the WBA, WBC and WBO belts will be one championship away from owning the entire super-welterweight division.
IBF champion Oshae Jones is therefore the obvious name in the background.
Mayer has also spoken openly about wanting major fights across different weight divisions before retiring, while Cameron has never exactly hidden from difficult opposition.
That can wait. First, they have to get through each other.
