Tyson Fury weighed 265 lb (120.2 kg) for his latest fight against Mariusz Wach in July 2026. That might not sound particularly unusual for a man who stands 6ft 9in, but Fury has turned up to fights almost two stone heavier in the past. With Anthony Joshua finally waiting for him in December, his weight is becoming an interesting talking point again. You can find the latest markets for their showdown through BetVictor’s boxing odds page.
I’ve always found Fury’s approach to his weight quite interesting. Most heavyweights spend their careers trying to find that perfect balance between power and fitness, whereas Fury has managed to win major fights looking like two completely different boxers. He was relatively light against Oleksandr Usyk the first time around, much heavier on the scales for the rematch, and somewhere in between for his best nights against Deontay Wilder.
Now that he’s back fighting regularly, there’s a decent amount of recent evidence to work with.
How Much Does Tyson Fury Weigh Right Now?
The most recent official Tyson Fury weight is 265 lb, recorded before his victory over Mariusz Wach on 24 July 2026.
That works out at approximately 120.2 kg, or 18 stone 13 lb.
Fury had been slightly heavier for his comeback against Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, weighing 267.9 lb after more than a year away from the ring. By the time he faced Wach three months later, he’d dropped almost another three pounds.
What made the Wach weigh-in particularly unusual was the sight of Fury looking like the smaller man. Wach came in at 291.4 lb, meaning the former world champion was giving away more than 26 lb despite having a reputation as one of boxing’s biggest heavyweights.
Fury still won, and there was no sign that the missing weight had suddenly made him physically vulnerable.
Tyson Fury Weight History: Last 7 Fights
Fury’s last seven weigh-ins tell a fairly interesting story. He’s gone from some of the heaviest numbers of his career back towards the weight he carried when beating Dillian Whyte in 2022.
| Opponent | Fight date | Recorded weight |
|---|---|---|
| Mariusz Wach | July 2026 | 265 lb |
| Arslanbek Makhmudov | April 2026 | 267.9 lb |
| Oleksandr Usyk II | December 2024 | 281 lb* |
| Oleksandr Usyk I | May 2024 | 262 lb |
| Francis Ngannou | October 2023 | 277.7 lb |
| Derek Chisora III | December 2022 | 268.1 lb |
| Dillian Whyte | April 2022 | 265.1 lb |
Fury wore a jacket and other clothing when weighing in at 281 lb for the second Usyk fight, so that figure isn’t directly comparable with the others.
There are two figures here that stand out to me.
The first is the 277.7 lb he weighed against Francis Ngannou. Fury went into that fight heavily favoured and ended up having a far more difficult evening than almost anybody expected. Ngannou knocked him down in the third round, and Fury eventually escaped with a split-decision victory.
Then there’s the first Usyk fight, where Fury weighed just 262 lb. He looked considerably lighter and moved well for large parts of the contest, but still couldn’t do enough to prevent Usyk from taking the decision.
Neither performance proves that Fury should be lighter or heavier. What they do show is that his weight alone tells us surprisingly little about how well he’s going to box.
Tyson Fury Weight in KG and Stone
For anyone wondering how much Tyson Fury weighs in kilograms or stone, here’s his latest recorded weight converted into the most common measurements.
- Tyson Fury weight in pounds: 265 lb
- Tyson Fury weight in kg: 120.2 kg
- Tyson Fury weight in stone: 18 stone 13 lb
- Tyson Fury height: 6ft 9in (206 cm)
There’s no official weight target he has to hit before a heavyweight contest, which is why these numbers can change significantly between fights.
Fury could weigh 260 lb against Joshua or turn up above 270 lb without either figure creating a problem at the weigh-in.
What Is the Heaviest Tyson Fury Has Weighed?
Fury’s highest recorded professional weigh-in came ahead of his December 2024 rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, when the scales showed 281 lb.
There is a catch, though.
He stepped onto the scales fully clothed, including a leather jacket, so we can’t confidently say his actual fighting weight was 281 lb. It’s a figure that regularly gets repeated without that context, which makes the comparison slightly misleading.
His 277.7 lb weigh-in against Francis Ngannou in October 2023 is a much more useful example of Fury competing at the heavier end of his usual range.
And that wasn’t the fight where he looked at his best.
Ngannou, making his professional boxing debut, gave him an unexpectedly awkward night and managed to knock him down. I wouldn’t blame Fury’s weight entirely, but it certainly wasn’t a convincing argument that carrying extra pounds gave him an advantage.
How Much Will Tyson Fury Weigh Against Anthony Joshua?
My early guess would be somewhere around 265 to 270 lb when Tyson Fury faces Anthony Joshua on 11 December.
That’s based purely on his two most recent weigh-ins. Fury came in at 267.9 lb against Makhmudov and 265 lb against Wach, so there’s no particular reason to assume he’ll suddenly bulk up towards 280 lb again.
Of course, this is Fury we’re talking about. He’s never been particularly predictable, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he decided to approach Joshua differently from his last two opponents.
The interesting thing is how he’ll want to fight.
Joshua has always been dangerous when he can establish his jab and land the right hand behind it. Fury’s height, reach and ability to make opponents reset are some of his biggest strengths, so I would personally prefer to see him arrive light enough to move comfortably for 12 rounds.
That doesn’t necessarily mean coming in at 260 lb. It means choosing a weight that allows him to use his boxing rather than relying entirely on his size.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Weight Difference
Based on their latest recorded weigh-ins, Fury is approximately 14 lb heavier than Anthony Joshua.
Joshua weighed 251 lb against Kristian Prenga in July 2026, compared with Fury’s 265 lb against Wach.
It’s a noticeable difference, but not an enormous one by heavyweight standards.
Joshua has also competed at several different weights. He was 243.4 lb against Jake Paul in December 2025, so his own preparation has clearly changed depending on the opponent.
The contrast between their physiques has always been one of the more entertaining parts of this rivalry. Joshua looks like the traditional heavyweight athlete, with a muscular build and explosive punching style. Fury doesn’t look remotely similar, yet has spent much of his career making elite heavyweights look uncomfortable.
It’s why I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on who weighs more when they finally meet.
Joshua’s power and Fury’s ability to manage distance should matter considerably more.
Has Tyson Fury Lost Weight Since His Usyk Fights?
Yes, at least when comparing the recorded figures.
Fury’s latest weigh-in of 265 lb is 16 lb below the 281 lb displayed ahead of his second Usyk fight, although the clothing worn at that weigh-in makes the actual difference impossible to establish precisely.
His first two fights of 2026 also suggest a more consistent approach to preparation.
There was only a 2.9 lb difference between the Makhmudov and Wach weigh-ins, and both came after Fury had returned to full training following a lengthy spell outside the ring.
At 38, that’s encouraging, particularly with another major fight approaching. It’s one thing getting into shape for a comeback against an opponent you’re expected to beat, and quite another preparing for Joshua in front of a packed stadium.
We’ll get a much clearer indication of how seriously Fury has approached the fight when the December weigh-in takes place.
Does Heavyweight Boxing Have a Weight Limit?
Professional heavyweight boxing has no upper weight limit.
Unlike the lower divisions, where fighters have to make a specific maximum weight, heavyweights can compete at 220 lb, 250 lb or even 300 lb without moving into another category.
The usual lower boundary is anything above the cruiserweight limit of 200 lb.
That freedom has always suited Fury, whose enormous frame allows him to carry more weight than many opponents without necessarily sacrificing his natural reach advantage.
But the lack of a limit doesn’t mean more weight is always desirable. There’s a reason fighters still spend months preparing their conditioning, even when there’s no particular number they need to make.
What Was Tyson Fury’s Best Fighting Weight?
If I had to pick one version of Fury, I’d probably go back to his second fight with Deontay Wilder in February 2020.
He weighed 273 lb, came forward far more aggressively than expected and stopped Wilder in the seventh round. It was a completely different performance from their first meeting, when Fury had spent much of the fight boxing off the back foot.
That night showed just how effective he could be when he combined his size with a clear tactical plan.
But would 273 lb be the right weight against Joshua? I’m not convinced.
Wilder and Joshua present different problems, and Fury is now six years older. Trying to recreate an old performance simply by reaching the same number on the scales would be missing the point.
For me, the important thing is whether Fury can still move, react and maintain his concentration over a long fight.
His most recent official weight remains 265 lb, and we’ll find out whether he sticks around that mark when he weighs in for Joshua in December. Until then, anything more precise is speculation.
