Katie Taylor’s Final Fight
The strange thing about this farewell is that Taylor isn’t leaving after a defeat or a run of poor performances.
Her last fight was another win over Amanda Serrano.
Taylor beat Serrano by majority decision at Madison Square Garden in July 2025, with two judges scoring the fight 97-93 and the third calling it 95-95. That completed a 3-0 sweep of one of the defining rivalries in modern women’s boxing.
Her professional record now stands at 25 wins and one defeat, with six stoppages.
The only loss came against Chantelle Cameron in Dublin in 2023. Six months later, Taylor took the rematch and became undisputed at super-lightweight.
There isn’t much left to chase.
Croke Park was the missing piece.
Who Is Flora Pili?
Pili is nowhere near as famous as Taylor. That should not be confused with her being a random farewell opponent.
The French fighter is 12-0 with two stoppage victories and has not lost since turning professional. The WBA currently lists her with that unbeaten record ahead of the Taylor fight.
Her rise has mostly taken place away from the biggest global cards.
Pili beat Silvia Bortot by split decision to win the European super-lightweight title in 2023. She then added the IBO belt by beating Jelena Janicijevic via majority decision in December 2025.
She now gets an enormous jump in occasion.
Twelve professional fights cannot prepare somebody for everything that comes with facing Katie Taylor in Dublin. The noise will be against her. The crowd will be against her. Almost every major-fight experience advantage belongs to Taylor.
Pili does have one luxury that Taylor doesn’t.

Taylor has fought Amanda Serrano three times, Chantelle Cameron twice, Delfine Persoon twice and collected world titles across two divisions.
Pili has never been in anything resembling this situation.
The outright price on Taylor reflects that gap in experience, which makes the method of victory more interesting when those markets are available.

How Could Taylor vs Pili Play Out?
Pili has a difficult choice.
She can respect Taylor too much and allow the champion to dictate the fight, or she can try to make something happen and risk giving Taylor the openings she wants.
Neither route looks particularly comfortable.
Taylor is 40 now, but her third fight with Serrano showed that her feet and judgement are still good enough to win rounds at world level. She doesn’t need every exchange to turn into a war anymore. She can step in, score and leave before an opponent has properly set their feet.
Against Pili, that experience should matter even more.
The challenger is capable of working through long fights. She has already completed ten rounds several times and went the full championship distance to beat Janicijevic. What is missing from her record is elite opposition.
There is also little evidence that either woman should be expected to chase an early knockout.
Taylor has six stoppages from 25 professional victories. Pili has two from 12. Their records point far more naturally towards a fight settled by rounds than one decided by a single huge punch.
Pili’s best chance may be to make those rounds uncomfortable.
Taylor has sometimes been drawn into exchanges when she could simply box. Cameron exploited that physicality in their first meeting, while Serrano has had success whenever she has forced Taylor to stand and trade.
The problem for Pili is replicating it.
Cameron and Serrano brought years of top-level experience and physical confidence into those fights. Pili is attempting it for the first time, on the biggest night of Taylor’s career, inside a stadium desperate to see one particular result.

My pick is Katie Taylor by decision.
There is always a danger in treating a farewell fight as a foregone conclusion. Boxing has ruined plenty of perfect endings.
Taylor is also 40. Pili is 29, unbeaten and arriving with everything to gain. If Taylor starts slowly or gets caught up in the emotion of the occasion, the challenger could make the opening rounds far closer than the odds suggest.
I still struggle to find enough reasons to pick against Taylor.
The difference in opposition is enormous. Taylor has spent years solving world-class fighters under pressure, and her third Serrano fight showed she can win without turning every round into chaos.
Pili has gone the distance repeatedly herself, which is why I prefer the cards to a Taylor stoppage. She should be durable enough to stay with the champion, but staying there and winning enough rounds are very different things.
Taylor can take away the early enthusiasm with movement, quick combinations and the cleaner work. Once the fight settles, I expect her experience to become increasingly obvious.

Whatever happens, this isn’t just another title defence.
Taylor was an Olympic champion before women’s boxing had anything close to its current profile. She went on to headline Madison Square Garden, became undisputed in two divisions and built a rivalry with Serrano that filled arenas.
Now she gets to finish at home.
Pili would love to become the woman who spoils the ending. She is unbeaten, younger and fighting for four world titles in one night.
But Taylor has spent most of her career being asked to deliver when the occasion was bigger than the fight itself.
Croke Park is the biggest occasion yet.
