The Scudetto is back in Inter's hands. They finished 11 points clear, collected the Coppa Italia as well and sent everybody else into the summer looking for answers.

Napoli have chosen a new manager. Milan are trying another reset. Juventus have kept faith with theirs, while Roma and Como begin with Champions League football to plan around. Plenty has moved, then, even if Inter remain the obvious reference point.

Serie A runs from August to May. By the end, each of its 20 clubs has faced the other 19 twice, once at home and once away. That is the tidy bit. Once the football starts, little stays tidy for long.

A trip to San Siro asks one set of questions. Breaking down a side protecting a point near the bottom asks another. Midweek travel, one suspended defender or a surprise team sheet can turn the same club into a different proposition.

Prices appear before kick-off, then react as fresh information comes in. A run of wins catches the eye, but it cannot tell you who is missing on Saturday. Check the absentees, likely rotation and confirmed line-up before committing to a selection.

There is no single “Serie A bet”. The menu changes with the fixture, though these markets commonly appear:

• Match result: Back the home win, draw or away win.
• Both teams to score: Will each side find the net?
• Total goals: Go above or below the line shown.
• Correct score: Name the full-time result exactly.
• Double chance: Cover two of the three possible outcomes.
• Draw no bet: A draw normally returns the stake.
• Handicap: Apply a virtual head start before the result is settled.
• Goalscorers: Choose a player to score first, last or at any time, where offered.
• Cards, corners and player markets: Selected fixtures may carry a wider range covering discipline, set pieces, shots and assists.

Give the rules a glance. A player who stays on the bench may be treated differently from one who comes on late; cup bets can also exclude extra time.

Start with Inter. Cristian Chivu's first season in charge brought the Scudetto, 87 points and 89 goals. Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram remain together in attack, with Nicolò Barella giving the midfield its drive. The defence is changing around them, but at the time of writing Inter still lead the Serie A winner betting.

Napoli have a different puzzle. Conte delivered second place and then left; Allegri is the man sorting through what remains. McTominay, De Bruyne and Anguissa know every trick in midfield, while Højlund has inherited more of the burden up front. Europe makes the job messier. That may decide whether Napoli close the gap or lose touch with Inter.

Milan and Juventus cannot hide behind their names. Fifth and sixth were poor returns for clubs with title ambitions. Amorim is the latest coach through the Milan door; Spalletti, unlike him, already has a season's work to build on in Turin. Both should improve. Whether “improve” means a genuine Scudetto challenge is the harder call.

Then come Roma and Como. Gian Piero Gasperini's Roma finished strongly enough to take third. Como, meanwhile, turned a good season into a remarkable one by claiming fourth and reaching the Champions League for the first time. Cesc Fàbregas has kept Nico Paz, but Europe will stretch a squad that had the luxury of one match a week for much of its rise.

Venezia did not hang about in Serie B. Down one year, champions the next. Frosinone followed through the automatic door and Monza took the longer route, surviving the play-offs to complete the trio.

Putting all three straight into a relegation shortlist would be convenient, not necessarily clever. One arrives as champion, another has fresh top-flight experience and Frosinone are beginning a fourth spell at this level. Let the recruitment and early home games tell us the rest.

They replace Cremonese, Hellas Verona and Pisa, who were relegated at the end of 2025/26.

Some matches ignore the pre-game script almost immediately. A favourite starts badly, a wing-back is booked inside ten minutes or an early goal forces the supposedly defensive team to attack.

Once kick-off arrives, eligible fixtures move into the in-play betting section. The menu may cover the result, next goal, total goals, cards and player specials. Prices do not sit still, and selections can disappear briefly while an incident is checked.

Cash Out and enhanced prices may appear where offered. Look at the options on the betslip rather than expecting either feature on every wager.

Imagine you fancy Inter to win, Lautaro to score and both sides to find the net. Three opinions about one game, but they may be compatible inside a single wager.

The Bet Builder combines eligible selections from the same fixture. It can make a prediction more personal, although every additional leg creates another way for the bet to lose. Do not add a market merely because the larger potential return looks attractive.

Inter against Milan needs little introduction. The Derby della Madonnina divides a city and, unusually, sends both clubs into the same stadium as home sides on different weekends.

Inter and Juventus contest the Derby d'Italia, a rivalry built on decades of title races and arguments. Rome answers with the Derby della Capitale between Roma and Lazio. Turin has Juventus against Torino, while Genoa and Sampdoria renew the Derby della Lanterna whenever both occupy the top flight.

Derbies tend to attract extra markets and attention. They do not arrive with a guaranteed betting pattern. Some become frantic; others tighten under the weight of the occasion. Current players and tactics matter more than a story borrowed from an old meeting.

Outrights ask the questions that take months to answer: who wins the Scudetto, who reaches the top four and which clubs go down? The top scorer market sits alongside them.

Seventeen goals were enough for Lautaro to take last season's Capocannoniere award. Malen and Douvikas stopped at 14, with Thuram one further back. Useful context, yes. A ready-made 2026/27 prediction, no.

Penalty duties can change. A player may be rotated around European fixtures or miss a month through injury. Check the dead-heat rules too, as a tie at the top can affect the final return.

Inter and Napoli have traded four of the past five Scudetti. Milan's 2021/22 win is the exception.
