Theme & Graphics
Red Tiger has gone down the mythical online slots fantasy route rather than trying to recreate a gritty Viking saga. The reels sit in a glowing natural landscape bathed in gold light, while the game's three stars watch over proceedings from above. It's a surprisingly colourful setting considering we're dealing with a giant wolf, a serpent big enough to wrap around the world, and the ruler of the dead.
Fenrir, Hel, and Jörmungandr are all animated and spring into action whenever their features activate. That's important because these characters aren't background decoration. They drive almost everything interesting that happens in the game.
The reel structure itself also helps the game stand apart from many online slots. Instead of a traditional rectangular grid, the reels are arranged in a 3-4-3-4-3 formation, giving the layout a slightly unusual appearance from the start. Bonus Features
The real appeal of Loki's Descendants comes from its three character-driven features. Unlike many slots where one bonus mechanic does most of the work, this game constantly mixes and matches effects from Fenrir, Hel, and Jörmungandr.
Serpent Feature
Jörmungandr is responsible for Wild symbols and multipliers. When activated, the giant serpent blows three Wilds diagonally across the grid.
If the feature triggers again, one of those Wilds receives a multiplier worth between x3 and x10. A third activation adds another multiplier, and the two values combine.
Fenrir Feature
Fenrir's approach is a little less subtle. The giant wolf burns symbols away from the reels.
The first activation removes all card symbols. The second removes beer and shield symbols, while the third removes spear symbols as well.
Fresh symbols then fall into the empty spaces, but only symbols that haven't already been removed can appear. This narrows the symbol pool considerably and can improve the chances of premium symbols and Wilds contributing to wins.
Hel Feature
Hel's feature focuses on increasing winning opportunities.
Whenever a winning combination is present, Hel can split winning symbols into twins, triples, or quadruples depending on how many times the feature activates.
The result is a huge increase in available winning paths, with the total number of win ways capable of reaching x1,024. It can create some surprisingly crowded reel screens once everything starts multiplying.

We quite liked the way Loki's Descendants handles its theme. Fenrir, Hel, and Jörmungandr actually feel important and after a handful of spins, you'll know exactly which character is responsible for which effect.
The feature combinations are easily the strongest part of the game. The three-tier bonus structure is also a nice touch, but, if we had one small criticism, it's that there are a lot of moving parts. For players who enjoy mythology themes and feature-heavy slots, though, there's plenty here to keep an eye on.
