MMA/UFC Betting Odds and Betting Markets

MMA and UFC betting is one of the most popular ways to wager on combat sports online. There are regular events in MMA, usually on a weekly basis, featuring fast-paced action to keep spectators and punters on the edge of their seats.

The UFC, or Ultimate Fighting Championship, is the biggest brand in mixed martial arts by a considerable margin, showcasing some of the biggest names in the sport. With that being said, there are other promotions such as Bellator that draw reasonable crowds and viewership.

Regardless of whether you prefer betting on the stacked UFC cards or on smaller events like Bellator, BetVictor has got you covered with an extensive range of markets across the board. You can bet on the winner of a particular bout, pick how long you think the fight will last, and so much more!

What are MMA/UFC betting markets?

There are plenty of different markets that you can use when betting on the MMA or UFC online, with some of the most popular variations being:

Winner or MoneyLine

Known as the winner bet or the MoneyLine bet, this involves picking the winner of a fight. If the chosen fighter wins by KO, TKO, submission, or disqualification, the bet will be marked as a winning one.

Keep in mind that when betting on the winner of an MMA match, a draw is another possible outcome. This is typically achieved when the judges award the same number of points to both fighters, but can also occur if the referee decides to call the fight a no-contest. If a draw is an option when placing your bet, anyone who picks a fighter to win will be unsuccessful, should the fight outcome be a draw.

Total Rounds

This type of bet is shown as over or under a predetermined number of rounds, such as 1.5. Should 2 or more rounds be completed, then the 'Over 1.5' bet will be marked as a win. Alternatively, if the fight ends in round 1 or 2, anyone who bet on 'Under 1.5' will be awarded at the corresponding odds.

The Fight To Go The Distance

As the name suggests, this type of bet allows you to pick whether or not the fight will go the distance and be determined via the judge's scorecards. The odds of the fight to do the distance bet will vary on a variety of factors, including the weight class and how well-versed the fighters are in knockouts or submission victories.

One important thing to keep in mind with this bet is that the number of rounds per fight will also vary. Most of the time, a bout will consist of 3 rounds. However, championship fights are usually scheduled for 5, giving more time for one fighter to get knocked out or submitted.

Method of Victory

The method of victory bet involves picking the winning fighter alongside how they will win. For example, you could pick Leon Edwards to win via knockout or technical knockout. Most of the time, the method of victory bets will be grouped, covering a few different outcomes.

While this type of bet is much harder to predict than the MoneyLine alternative, this is reflected as the odds are higher.

Round Betting

Last but not least is round betting, which allows you to bet on which fighter will win the bout and in what round. One of the most popular types of bet in this category is in favour of a particular MMA star to win in the first round, as some fighters come out with explosive intensity for every fight. There are also some fighters that tend to come to life later in a fight, taking advantage of their cardio being better than their opponents.

Popular MMA Competitions To Bet On

When it comes to MMA competitions to bet on, there is no organisation that really competes with the UFC or Ultimate Fighting Championship. They pull in the biggest names in fighting with the highest attendances, while also being watched by millions of people around the world.

For example, UFC 300, which was packed with a variety of the top stars from the industry, peaked at almost 2.5 million live viewers. Naturally, this number increased hugely when highlights were made available online.

While they're not quite as popular as the Ultimate Fighting Championship bouts, Bellator still has a strong reputation in the MMA space. The fights that Bellator put on are hugely entertaining and still feature big-name fighters, such as the heavyweight Vadim Nemkov and Usman Nurmagomedov, to name just a few.

Here at BetVictor, you can bet on the biggest MMA competitions, alongside some of the events such as Bellator that don't get as much coverage. These events come thick and fast throughout the year, with many weeks featuring either a UFC or Bellator MMA card for spectators to look forward to!
