EURO 2024 Tips & Predictions

EURO 2024 Tips

Get ready for EURO 2024 in Germany with our ultimate tips and predictions guide! From tournament dark horses to Golden Boot winners to Player of the Tournament, we’ll cover every angle.

Winners

England currently lead the EURO 2024 market at 3/1 but we will be looking away from the Three Lions for our potential winner. After a disappointing couple of international breaks, the warm up to the tournament has been less than ideal for Gareth Southgate and certainly not enough to shake the big-tournament bottle jobs tag.

France boast obvious quality but seem to be struggling to find a starting XI which sings from the same hymn sheet. A horrid UEFA Nations League campaign, poor results and performances against ‘lesser’ nations since and back-to-back defeats to Germany in the past year doesn’t inspire confidence in Les Blues.

This brings us on to our pick, the host nation Germany at 5/1. It cannot be underestimated just how much of an advantage it is being at home. For example, six of England’s seven games at EURO 2020 were at Wembley. France were also narrowly denied EURO 2016 by Portugal when they hosted.

The group Germany have could be seen as one of the easiest with Switzerland being their biggest threat in front of Hungary and Scotland.

Julian Nagelsmann is a young and very talented coach with players such as: Havertz, Wirtz, Musiala, Gundogan, Kimmich and Rudiger at his disposal. For all these reasons, we cannot look past the Germans claiming more major glory.

Golden Boot

Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo all make strong cases for winning the Golden Boot at EURO 2024. However, all playing in sides that contain goalscoring quality across the pitch, it’s easy to see goals being taken away from their tallies.

Griezmann, Giroud, Foden, Bellingham, Fernandes and Leao will all be involved in the action throughout the tournament.

So it may pay to look away from these nations and find a country that will make a deep run with a sole scoring option. Following this thought, it’s easy to be attracted to the 14/1 price for Romelu Lukaku.

His Belgium side are typically seen in the latter stages of the tournaments they play in and this year shouldn’t be any different. With a group of Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine, Belgium have the chance to leave the opening stage as leading goalscorers.

Whilst Trossard, Doku and Openda may be deemed good secondary scoring options, they don’t come close to the supporting casts the other main strikers have. Lukaku scored 14 goals in just eight qualifying games as the service from De Bruyne and Tielemans made it hard for the Inter front man to stay off the scoresheet.

Player of the Tournament

England’s disappointing preparation has put doubts over how deep Southgate’s men will go. Bellingham, Foden and Kane all join Mbappe at the top of the betting for Player of the Tournament.

The award has always been won by a player on the championship winning team other than one time, when Griezmann lifted the award in defeat to Portugal at EURO 2016.

With our pick being Germany to win the tournament, it only makes sense to pick a German to win this award and we believe that will be Kai Havertz at 25/1.

The Arsenal frontman is expected to lead the line for Germany and finished the season with a surprisingly high tally of goals and assists.

Havertz is expected to be involved in a lot of Germany’s build-up play as well finishing the attacks off himself. In the same role at Arsenal he racked up 14 goals and 7 assists over the season as the young German began to grow and flourish at his new club. We expect he’ll do the same with his nation and lead his country to a victorious EURO 2024.
