EFL Championship Predictions: A Very Good Friday For Millwall, QPR And Coventry

With the last international break of 2025-26 done and dusted, it’s all systems go again in England’s second tier. There’s plenty to play for at both ends of the table over the frantic Easter holiday weekend programme. A huge promotion clash awaits at the Riverside with a tasty affair at Loftus Road also in the pipeline.

At the other end of the table, a number of teams are all vying for eggs-tra points to help retain their league status. How will the action pan out? BetVictor News delivers you EFL Championship predictions for all 11 fixtures being played on Good Friday.

EFL Championship Predictions

Middlesbrough vs Millwall (12:30pm kick-off)

Firmly in the business end of the season, Middlesbrough are starting to wobble at the wrong time. Which makes Championship betting extremely intriguing going into their clash with Millwall. Boro’s main objective will be to clinch the runner-up spot as they are nine adrift of leaders Coventry and two ahead of their opponents who occupy fourth (level with Ipswich in third).

Kim Hellberg’s side haven’t won on home soil in their last four outings and have just two victories overall form their last eight. Despite that, the Middlesbrough vs Millwall odds favour the home side, which provides plenty of value for those looking to back the Lions; who have won four of their last six.

Prediction: Middlesbrough 1-2 Millwall

Birmingham vs Blackburn (3pm kick-off)

Although Birmingham’s play-off push has faltered in recent weeks, the Blues will be looking to finish the season strongly. Manager Chris Davies has done an admirable job and the Birmingham vs Blackburn betting odds suggest a home win is on the cards.

As for Blackburn, they are currently 13/8 in the Championship relegation odds market so they are expected to come with attacking intent in mind. However, their defensive frailties are evident and we are backing the home side to claim all three points.

Prediction: Birmingham 2-1 Blackburn

Charlton vs Bristol City (3pm kick-off)

There’s not a huge amount to play for at the Valley which is reflected in the Charlton vs Bristol City odds. The south Londoners are a healthy nine points clear of safety where as the Robins have a 12-point cushion.

During the international break, City replaced manager Gerhard Struber with 78-year-old Roy Hodgson. It’s fair to assume a cagey affair in the capital with both teams taking a share of the spoils. Which would please the former England gaffer whose side have lost four of their last five.

Prediction: Charlton 1-1 Bristol City

Leicester vs Preston (3pm kick-off)

With the ten-year anniversary of their 5000-1 Premier League success on the horizon, Leicester are staring into the abyss. The Foxes are one point clear of safety, and are currently 6/4 in the Championship relegation market ahead of their Good Friday clash against Preston.

Gary Rowett’s side have just one victory in 13 matches to their name. And even though North End have entertained their own drop-off in form – which was corrected last time out against Stoke – our EFL Championship predictions can’t see past a win for the Lancashire-based side at the King Power.

Prediction: Leicester 0-2 Preston

Norwich vs Portsmouth (3pm kick-off)

After a dreadful start to the season, Norwich have been absolutely flying this calendar year. The Canaries have 12 wins since NYD and the Norwich vs Portsmouth odds imply a 13th will be achieved come full-time on Good Friday.

Pompey will still be licking their wounds after their 6-1 mauling at QPR before the break. Statistically, the South Coast strugglers dominated the Londoners but Rangers were utterly ruthless in front of goal. John Mousinho’s side are without a win in six and will likely slip deeper into relegation trouble in Norfolk.

Prediction: Norwich 3-1 Portsmouth

Oxford vs Hull (3pm kick-off)

Time is very much running out for Oxford who currently occupy 23rd spot and are one point adrift of safety. The U’s home form over the last three outings has seen Matt Bloomfield’s side pick up seven points. Which is something to consider going into the clash.

With that said, the Oxford vs Hull odds favour the Tigers. The promotion hopefuls have won 10 games on the road in 2025-26, the joint best in the league. In terms of our EFL Championship predictions for the Kassam Stadium clash, we’ll sit on the fence and call an entertaining score draw.

Prediction: Oxford 2-2 Hull

QPR vs Watford (3pm kick-off)

Having lost four on the bounce without scoring, QPR then went on to win their next two games by an aggregate score of 9-2. The west Londoners rediscovery of their shooting boots doesn’t see them sit favourites when it comes to the QPR vs Watford odds.

However, that will give bettors enough value to strongly consider a third consecutive win is in the pipeline. BetVictor News is in agreement too and is predicting the Super Hoops to take the sting out of the Hornets at Loftus Road.

Prediction: QPR 3-1 Watford

Coventry vs Derby (8pm kick-off)

Top-of-the-table Coventry can take one step closer to the title on Good Friday with victory over Derby. And BetVictor News fully expects the Sky Blues to get the job done at the CBS Arena. The Coventry vs Derby odds make Frank Lampard’s charges the favourites having won seven of their last eight.

The Rams still have play-off aspirations and head to the West Midlands in strong form. However, their hosts will likely prove too strong and the points will stay at the CBS.

Prediction: Coventry 2-0 Derby

EFL Championship Predictions For The Rest Of Good Friday’s Action
