Undefeated UFC Fighters: 5 Current Champions

Winning a single match in the brutal environment of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is hard enough. Indeed, there is no greater test of a fighter’s ability than when they step into the metal mixed martial arts (MMA) cage where no inch is given.

While this uncompromising stage often humbles the world’s most fierce MMA stars, some fighters have remained undefeated in their UFC careers. Below, we’ll look into the list of undefeated UFC fighters who have defied the odds by conquering every challenger they faced in the Octagon.

Umar Nurmagomedov: 16-0

As the brother of Usman Nurmagomedov and the cousin of the previously undefeated UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, it’s safe to say that Umar Nurmagomedov hails from MMA royalty.

By carrying the fighting DNA of some of the world’s most feared competitors, it perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Dagestani warrior maintains an unbeaten professional record, currently standing at 16-0.

Four of these fights have taken place in the Octagon since the “Young Eagle” signed with the UFC in 2020. Of Nurmagomedov’s 16 wins so far, seven have come by way of decision, seven by submissions, and two by knockout (KO).

After such a prolific start to life in the Octagon, Nurmagomedov is surely destined for the summit of the bantamweight division.

Khamzat Chimaev: 13-0

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the top undefeated UFC fighters who are currently active. As of early 2024, the 29-year-old’s record reads 13 fights and 13 wins since his MMA debut on May 26th, 2018.

The majority of Chimaev’s professional wins have come in the UFC with the Russian registering seven consecutive victories in the Octagon since joining the company in 2020.

Over his career which has been largely spent in the middleweight division, “Borz” has developed a reputation for being a devastating striker with six of his 13 wins coming by way of KO. Of the remaining seven, five have come by way of submission with two being won by decision.

Quite simply, this is a man who relishes a scrap in the Octagon and that was proved in 2020 when Chimaev broke the UFC record for the shortest turnaround between fights when he took on and beat Rhys McKee just ten days after overcoming John Phillips.

Movsar Evloev: 17-0

Fighting Movsar Evloev is like death by a thousand cuts. At least, the 29-year-old, who holds two degrees in law as well as computer programming, is an extremely intelligent fighter who is always one step ahead of his opponents.

To date, no one has been able to outfox the Ingushetia-born MMA star who has a professional record that reads 17 fights and 17 wins – seven of these wins have been achieved in the UFC.

Tellingly, ten of these victories have come by way of decision and four by submission; illustrating how technically superior Evloev is. The rest have been won by KO which also shows that Evloev has the power to call upon for a fast finish if need be.

Overall, Evloev has spent his career building this dominant record in the bantam and featherweight divisions since his debut in 2014.

It remains to be seen if anyone has the fighting strategy to administer Evloev’s first defeat given that up until now, his patience, technique, and intellect have proved unbeatable.

Shavkat Rakhmonov: 18-0

Any opponent stepping foot into the MMA cage with Shavkat Rakhmonov now knows that the chances of their fight going the distance are virtually nil.

The reason for this is simple: Rakhmonov has managed to stop all 18 of his opponents since his debut in 2014 with ten matches being won by submission while eight have been decided by KO.

Essentially, there is nowhere to run or hide for the opponents of the Kazakh fighter as he immediately goes after them following the first horn; a swift finish usually ensues.

So far, six of the welterweight’s 18 victories have been recorded in the UFC’s Octagon since joining the company.

At just 29 years old and in his prime, this number is likely to increase as “Nomad” keeps kicking down doors on his way to a world title.

Tatiana Suarez: 10-0

What about undefeated female UFC fighters? Tatiana Suarez’s place on this list has been hard-earned after the American racked up an undefeated record of 10-0 since her professional MMA debut in 2014. Six of these wins have been achieved while fighting in the UFC.

Suarez has spent her career competing in both the fly and strawweight divisions where success has been the only theme.

Ultimately, a potent blend of freestyle wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu has given Suarez the tools to sweep aside her opponents. After Suarez’s ten fights so far, five have been won by submission, three by decision, and two by KO.

Stopping the diminutive Suarez seemed a somewhat doable task ten matches ago but it now looks like the world is witnessing one of the all-time great UFC careers being constructed.
