We’re almost there NFL fans, the wait is almost over. Just one more Sunday of games lies between us and the Super Bowl, which is scheduled for Sunday the 9th of February at 6:30 pm (EDT). This weekend we crown the winners of each conference, with two games back-to-back on Sunday 26th of January 2025 for spectators to enjoy.
Last weekend, in the Divisional Round, we had the first real shock of the entire postseason so far, as the Detroit Lions, the overwhelming favourites to win the National Football Conference, were eliminated by an in-form Washington Commanders.
Of course, it was a team effort on behalf of the Commanders that made this possible; however, star quarterback Jayden Daniels really did shine despite the pressure and noise from the Detroit crowd. He left the field with two touchdowns and 350 total yards in a truly remarkable performance that Washington Commanders fans will likely never forget.
Meanwhile, in the other three games, everything was pretty much as expected. The Kansas City Chiefs, who are now even more favored to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy, beat the Houston Texans in a 23-14 match that may look close on paper, but in reality, was always theirs to lose. The Philadelphia Eagles would beat out the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 as well inside the snowy Lincoln Financial Field, with Jalen Hurts performing at a top level to help them get over the line.
The tightest game of the Divisional Round would be the Buffalo Bills against the Baltimore Ravens, with Josh Allen getting the edge in a fierce battle with Lamar Jackson to give the Bills the victory.

This game is a real example of form versus talent, with the Washington Commanders being red hot right now, winning 7 games in a row, while on paper, the Philadelphia Eagles are the better team.

The Eagles and Commanders scored 463 and 485 points in the regular season, respectively, which leads us to believe that this will be a high-scoring affair. The game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills will be the last encounter before we reach the Super Bowl. It will be highly anticipated for that reason alone, however, the sheer potential for drama makes this game a match a must-watch. As of writing, the spread sits at -2.5 in favor of the Chiefs and while they’re still the preferred team, according to NFL odds, this is the tightest a spread has been in one of their games for a while.
This is an encounter that many Bills fans would have wanted to avoid, with the Chiefs knocking them out of the playoffs in 2023, 2021, and 2020. With that being said, they will find solace in the fact that they’ve already beaten them once (30-21) during the regular NFL season.
As for key players, it’s not a surprise that we’re placing Patrick Mahomes as the one to watch in this one. He will be looking to get one up over Josh Allen, which we think is entirely doable when Mahomes is on his A game.
