BetVictor’s Champions League Double

The Champions League returns for the final group stage fixtures, where fates and fortunes alike will be sealed. We’ve put together a 15/4 boosted double for the occasion.

Bayern Munich to win – 6/5

Man United v Bayern Munich

Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, Man United have not quite been the same machine in Europe. Countless managers and countless ‘divas’, yet there does remain one constant in the club- the Glazers.

This year’s Champions League campaign has been particularly horrific. They find themselves bottom of the group with 4 points, having shipped 14 goals in as few as 5 matches. To qualify, they simply need to beat Bayern Munich and pray that Copenhagen and Galatasaray draw… Quite the tall order.

Taking the above into account, our Best Bet for this fixture is a Bayern victory. As much as Man United need to qualify to ‘rescue’ their season (and potentially Erik ten Hag’s career at United), Bayern Munich, now equipped with Harry Kane will surely be too much for a lacklustre Red Devils side. The German champions are unbeaten, winning 4 out of 5 thus far. They failed to pick up three points in their most recent game, where they were held to a goalless draw by an impressive Copenhagen away performance.

The reverse fixture in Germany ended up an astonishing 4-3 to The Bavarians. What was more staggering in this match was how a team could score 3 away goals, yet never look like they would ever take any points from the match.

Real Madrid to win – 1/1

FC Union Berlin v Real Madrid

It’s fair to say that Union Berlin have had one of the greatest falls from grace in football this season. Having led the field for much of last season, Union Berlin were happy to settle for their first Champions League qualification in history.

This season paints a much bleaker picture, however. Hovering just above the Bundesliga relegation zone with just three wins to their name. Moreover, the German outfit currently lay at the foot of their Champions League group, having failed to win a single game.
The Champions League debutant’s home form has been particularly woeful. Before their win over Monchengladbach at the weekend, Union Berlin hadn’t won at home since August.
Real Madrid have begun this season in their usual dominant fashion. Top of La Liga; top of their Champions League group. Their only defeat of the season came at the hands of city rivals Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, new signing Jude Bellingham has recently become a record breaker by scoring 14 goals in his first 15 Real Madrid games – surpassing club legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Alfredo Di Stefano who had scored 13 goals at the same stage. He now has 16 goals in his first 18.
Los Blancos have a perfect record in Europe, having won all five of their games. Only Manchester City can also brag of the same record. In the reverse fixture, Real came away with all three points, following a 2-1 win at the Bernabeu. Whilst Real Madrid have already qualified, Ancelotti will be keen to keep his 100% record in tact.
