The Must Watch Race Of The Day
The John Durkan Chase gives us the chance to see current Gold Cup holder Galopin Des Champs back in action for top trainer Willie Mullins. The Champion Irish trainer runs four others in the race with Fastorslow who caused a major shock when beating Galopin at the Punchestown Festival. This is another race that could have a bit impact on the ante post markets for the future but the odds suggest that Galopin Des Champs will win this race once again.
Nap Of The Day
After a good week with the Naps we were unlucky with Flooring Porter yesterday at Punchestown. The loose horse certainly gave this horse, who is already a quirky character an unhelpful distraction.
Today we sponsor the 1.55 at Punchestown, the two mile novice chase known as the Craddockstown has attracted just four runners, which is a shame, but it looks a fairly straightforward task for Imagine of the Gordon Elliott team to make it back-to-back chase victories. That win at Fairyhouse came in a competitive enough affair and with the Elliott team still in fine fettle, I expect his five year old to claim this contest.
