Top EuroLeague Odds for Week 20
Fenerbahce (11-7) vs. ALBA Berlin (3-16)
Fenerbahce aims to continue their impressive form as they face off against a struggling ALBA Berlin. Last week, Marko Guduric led Fenerbache to a relatively comfortable 84-76 victory over Anadolu Efes, scoring 17 points with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Many eyes will be on Guduric to continue this form as Fenerbahce make a run for the top spot.
On the other side of things, ALBA Berlin fell to Monaco, despite the team scoring an impressive 90 points. Their defence couldn’t cope with Mike James and Matthew Strazel, who put up 23 and 18 points respectively, contributing towards the 105-90 scoreline. Matt Thomas has been desperately trying to get ALBA Berlin out of this rut with 2.3 triples per game, however, they are still finding wins tough to come by.
Monaco (13-6) vs. FC Barcelona (10-9)
AS Monaco leads the league and is set to play against FC Barcelona in a game that could be crucial for playoff positions. Barcelona will be aiming for back-to-back wins on the road, however, a win against Monaco is a rare find, especially inside the Salle Gaston Médecin.
Tomas Satoransky of Barcelona has been on fire, handing out 8 assists in his last three games. Willy Hernangomez has also shown his skill by scoring a double-double this season for the first time. Monaco fans will be looking out for Nick Calathes, who made an impressive debut against ALBA Berlin last week, racking up a total of 7 assists in the process.
Maccabi Tel Aviv (5-14) vs. Milano (10-9)
This game is an important one for Maccabi, with the team in desperate need of a win to keep their playoff dreams alive. Maccabi have won just one of their last seven games and suffered a 98-86 defeat to Milano the last time these two teams faced off.
Eyes will likely be on Jaylen Hoard (Maccabi Tel Aviv) and Zach LeDay (Milano) once again, both of whom lead the scoring for their teams in the last encounter with 20 and 22 points each, respectively.
Panathinaikos (12-7) vs. Partizan (9-10)
Panathinaikos Aktor Athens (12-7) are on a hot streak, winning four games in a row, scoring 100 points in three of these. Omer Yurtseven has been instrumental to the success of the Panathinaikos, scoring 27 points in their recent 111-90 win against Virtus Bologna, as they look to push on and challenge for the top spot in the league.
On the other side, Partizan will look to the experience and wisdom of Zeljko Obradovic to guide them to victory in a game that many experts think will be incredibly tight. It’s also worth mentioning that Partizan are coming off the back of a 98-75 victory against Maccabi, so they will certainly be brimming with confidence for this meeting.
Anadolu Efes (10-9) vs. LDLC ASVEL (8-11)
Anadolu Efes (10-9) have been struggling with perimeter shooting, managing only 6 three-pointers in their last game, while their upcoming opponents LDLC ASVEL (8-11) need to address ball control after a woeful 21 turnovers in their previous match against Milano.
Joffrey Lauvergne should be ready to make a return for LDLC ASVEL, which could give them a much-needed boost. However, this game will likely depend on which team has been more efficient in addressing their mistakes from last week.
Zalgiris (10-9) vs. Real Madrid (10-9)
When it comes to competitive games this week, Zalgiris vs Real Madrid is certainly one to keep an eye on, with both teams being tied for the eighth spot in the EuroLeague. Many experts and fans are waiting for Real Madrid to find their form. However, Zalgiris have shown a range of positive signs this season already.
Zalgiris are currently sitting on a 3-loss streak, although the team has shown it can compete with Real Madrid after defeating them 92-83 in December of last year.
Crvena Zvezda (11-8) vs. Paris (11-7)
Paris will be looking to bounce back from the defeat Crvena Zvezda handed them earlier in the season, which ended 80-77. It’s also worth mentioning that Paris are sitting on a four-game losing streak, making this game hugely influential when it comes to the playoffs race.
TJ Shorts has been firing on all cylinders for the duration of the season; however, if Paris is to triumph against an in-form Crvena Zvezda (Currently on a 3-win streak), the rest of the team will have to step up to the plate.
Olympiacos (13-6) vs. Bayern Munich (11-8)
A victory over Bayern Munich would see Olympiacos’ win streak improve to five as they look for daylight between themselves and Monaco at the top of the EuroLeague. Bayern Munich have a good, strong record this season (11-8). However, their weakness comes in playing on the road, losing 3 of their last 4 away games.
If Bayern Munich are going to cause an upset, it will likely need to be Carsen Edwards who has a monumental performance. He was a force to be reckoned with in the last meeting between these two teams, scoring an incredible 30 points as Bayern walked away with an 84-80 victory.
Virtus Bologna (5-14) vs. Baskonia (8-11)
The final game of the week will see Baskonia travel to Italy to take on Virtus Bologna, who conceded 111 points against Panathinaikos last week.
All eyes will be on Will Clyburn, who made a last-second play to secure the win for Virtus Bologna in their previous encounter. On the flip side, Baskonia’s Chima Moneke had an impressive run last week, racking up 18 points against Crvena Zvezda.
