Switzerland vs germany odds

The opening Matchday 3 kick-offs see Group A’s ‘A-Team’ take on a ‘Die Mannschaft’ side that will be looking to secure a maximum 9/9 points on their home turf. While Germany will be buoyed by their incredible wins against a French and Dutch team this year, let alone a strong start to the Euros, Switzerland will undoubtedly try to take this group to the wire, with only a single loss recorded since mid-2023, and pip Germany to the top spot to get a, hopefully, easier path in the Round of 16. Being their first major tournament match in some 58 years, let’s see what the bookies are saying in regards to the latest Switzerland vs Germany odds and who they feel might walk away with the spoils and finish Group A in pole position.

Looking at the latest 2024 Euro betting odds, according to BetVictor at the time of writing, Switzerland sit some way off at 18/5*, where a £10 bet would pay out £46 if correct, while favourites Germany are posted at odds of just 4/6*, with the same £10 wager returning only £16.66 if they’re leading when the final whistle is blown. If you think the game might end in a draw, current odds of 14/5* mean a £10 stake would pay £38, although both teams are unlikely to want to settle for even points. While Germany and Switzerland are just 3 places apart in the FIFA men’s rankings, the Germans slightly ahead in 16th and the Swiss in 19th place, with a whopping 7 goals in 2 games so far, you would be forgiven for thinking that Germany might just well run amok in the game.

As the evening kick-off on the 23rd June rolls around, Germany’s head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, will be looking to his captain İlkay Gündoğan to get the very best out of Munich striker Thomas Müller and Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, while Switzerland’s own coach, Murat Yakin, will place his trust in captain Granit Xhaka and his vice-captain Xherdan Shaqiri, the two ‘most capped’ players for the country, to do what it takes to help Switzerland supersede their Quarter Final place they achieved in Euro 2020. While we predict that both sides will do what they can to find a way through and grab an early goal, Germany’s intense firepower and homefield advantage should help them on their way to landing all three points when full-time rolls around at the 90 minute mark.
