Premier League Preview

The Premier League is back after the first international break of the campaign. It’s Matchday 4 in the English top flight, and clubs will be keen to kick on after the short hiatus. For some, the break will have come at the right time, and for others, the wrong time. And for one team, they continue after the break with a new manager in post. So, it will be interesting to see what transpires this weekend. As always, you can follow all the action and get involved via Premier League betting at BetVictor.

Saturday, September 13

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

This match could be more about Nottingham Forest than it is Arsenal, as the visitors fired Nuno in the international break and replaced him with former Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. Arsenal will fancy their chances of taking advantage of a team in a bit of disarray on and off the pitch.

Bournemouth vs Brighton

Bournemouth and Brighton come into this one off the back of “shock” wins in many respects. The Cherries defeated an in-form Tottenham Hotspur away from home, and the Seagulls stunned Manchester City. By that reckoning, they could be difficult to split on Saturday afternoon.

Crystal Palace vs Sunderland

Crystal Palace managed to retain captain Marc Guehi in the transfer window, so they’ll be boosted by his presence. Sunderland, as one of the newly promoted sides, are finding ways to win, but they may find it slightly too tough against a well-drilled Eagles side.

Everton vs Aston Villa

Everton vs Aston Villa could be one of the fixtures of the weekend, and very much the Jack Grealish show. The winger, formerly Villa’s talisman, has been on fire for the Toffees since signing on loan from Manchester City. The Villains continue to struggle and could find themselves in a sticky situation come full time.

Fulham vs Leeds

Fulham haven’t found their feet in the Premier League as yet this season. They’ve managed to rescue draws, but haven’t won, and lost last time out against Chelsea. Leeds have won one, drawn one, and lost one. However, this could be the day Fulham pick up their first three points of the campaign.

Newcastle United vs Wolves

Newcastle United have played well this season, but haven’t got the points to show for it. They welcome a struggling Wolves side, who are likely without striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, who the Magpies attempted to sign this summer. Saturday afternoon could be lift off for Eddie Howe’s side if they play as they have been.

West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham United and Spurs meeting is always a fiercely fought contest, as the two teams are fierce London rivals. However, throw into the mix Mohammed Kudus moving from West Ham to Spurs this summer, and things intensify further. Expect fireworks, especially as the home team won last time out and the away team suffered a shock defeat.

Brentford vs Chelsea

The final game on Saturday is a West London derby. Brentford, where it’s been all change in the last few months, welcome an in-form Chelsea to the Gtech. And, if recent form, results, and performances are anything to go by, it’s going to be a tough evening for the Bees.

Sunday, September 14

Burnley vs Liverpool

The first of the two Premier League fixtures on Sunday kicks off at Turf Moor, with Burnley hosting reigning champions Liverpool. The Clarets were unlucky to come away from Old Trafford empty-handed last time out, but Arne Slot’s side keep finding ways to win, and they should have too much for Burnley, as they will for most.

Manchester City vs Manchester United

The big game of the weekend is the Manchester derby, with Manchester City hosting rivals Manchester United at the Etihad. Neither team is in form or where they want to be, which should add extra spice to the fixture. Both outfits will see this fixture as their chance to kick-start their season, which will make it electric viewing.

The Premier League remains the best and most-watched football division in the world. There are always eye-catching performances from teams and players, storylines to follow, and shock results. You can continue to get involved in the action by visiting the sports betting at BetVictor.
