The NFL released its complete 2025 schedule for all 32 teams this week. Thirteen of those teams will be travelling overseas this year, with the Minnesota Vikings as the only team with two international games on their schedule. These international games will begin as early as week one this season, with the final overseas matchup scheduled for week 11 in Spain.
So, get ready and set your alarms, because another international slate of games means lots of early starts on Sunday mornings. Here’s a preview of the NFL’s international schedule for the 2025 season.
NFL International Schedule 2025: Seven Games in Five Countries
Last season, the NFL played a record five international games in three different countries. This season, the NFL is upping the ante, adding two more games to the international schedule and two new countries to its world tour.
In 2024, the NFL played games in London, England, Munich, Germany, and São Paulo, Brazil. This year, the NFL will return to all three countries and add Ireland and Spain to the schedule for the first time in history.
Here are the seven international games that are scheduled for the 2025 NFL season:
Week 1 in São Paulo, Brazil: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Week 1 starts with a bang with an AFC West divisional matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs are coming off a disappointing showing in last year’s Super Bowl game, where they failed to become the first team ever to win three consecutive NFL Championships.
The Chargers were one of the most improved teams in the NFL last season under new head coach Jim Harbaugh. They lost in the AFC Wildcard round to the Houston Texans and are still seeking their first playoff win since 2018.
Kansas City won both games between the two teams last year, but both games were low-scoring affairs. The Chiefs won by scores of 17-10 and 19-17. This game, broadcast from Brazil, will take place on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at 8:00 PM EST.
Week 4 in Dublin, Ireland: Minnesota Vikings vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The first-ever NFL game in Ireland will see the Vikings take on one of the country’s most popular teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers. Minnesota will be led by star wide receiver Justin Jefferson and second-year quarterback JJ McCarthy, who missed his entire rookie season with a knee injury. After going 14-3 last season, the Vikings will have high expectations heading into the year.
Pittsburgh brought in wide receiver DK Metcalf from Seattle and traded receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. As of now, they still do not have their starting quarterback, although they have been linked to Aaron Rodgers all offseason.
The Steelers will be playing their first international game since 2013. Their opponent in that game in London? The Minnesota Vikings, who won the matchup by a score of 34-27. This game will take place on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, at 9:30 AM EST.
Week 5 in London, England: Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns
The first London game of the season will feature the Minnesota Vikings in their second consecutive international game. It is the first time in NFL history that a team will play consecutive international games in two different countries. This game will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, home to Tottenham Hotspur F.C. of the English Premier League.
Cleveland made headlines by finally drafting Colorado quarterback Shadeur Sanders in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft. The Browns selected Sanders after another rookie, Dillon Gabriel, and already have Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett under contract. As always, Cleveland will be an interesting team to watch this year, especially with the added dynamic of the Sanders family.
Week 6 in London, England: Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets
The second London game of the season will take place one week after the Vikings and Browns clash. This game will also be at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will be the first time the Broncos have played an international game since 2022.
The Jets are once again entering 2025 with an all-new look. Out are quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams. New York signed former Bears first overall pick Justin Fields to a two-year deal, pairing him with new head coach Aaron Glenn. The two know each other well from their days in the NFC North division, and Glenn is determined to right the ship in New York.
Week 7 in London, England: Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The third and final London game in 2025 will take place at Wembley Stadium. Jacksonville is London’s de facto home team, and this will be the team’s fourteenth game across the pond since 2023. All eyes will be on this year’s second overall pick, Travis Hunter, who can play both the wide receiver and cornerback positions.
Last year, the Rams surprised the league by winning the NFC West division and came within a couple of plays of knocking out the eventual Super Bowl Champions in the NFC divisional round. The team moved on from long-time Ram Cooper Kupp and signed Davante Adams to line up alongside breakout star Puka Nacua. The Rams should be the favourites to win the NFC West division once again this year.
Week 10 in Berlin, Germany: Atlanta Falcons vs. Indianapolis Colts
The sixth international game on this year’s schedule will take place in Berlin, Germany. While it is the fifth game that will be played in Germany, it will be the first one hosted in Berlin. Last season, the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers played in Munich, with two games in 2023 hosted in Frankfurt.
Both the Falcons and Colts continue to rebuild their teams, and it all revolves around the search for a franchise quarterback. The Colts thought they had him in Anthony Richardson, who they drafted fourth overall in 2023. But injuries and inconsistent play could mean a short leash for Richardson in his third season with the team. The Falcons will hand the ball over to 2024 first-round pick Michael Penix Jr after the team benched Kirk Cousins last season. Both teams last played internationally in 2023, with the Colts playing in Munich and the Falcons playing in London.
Week 11 in Madrid, Spain: Washington Commanders vs. Miami Dolphins
For the first time in NFL history, a regular-season game will be played in Spain. The game will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, home of the Real Madrid soccer team. This will be Washington’s second international game, with the first taking place way back in 2016. The Commanders will be a team to watch this season as rookie standout Jayden Daniels carried the team all the way to the NFC Championship game.
The Dolphins are coming off another disappointing season. It is likely the last chance for head coach Mike McDaniel and this core group, especially if quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is injured again. Miami always has an explosive offence, but has had trouble putting it all together under Tua and McDaniel. This will be the Dolphins’ first international game since they played in Germany in 2023.
