At long last, the NFL season is back, and so far, it’s been better than ever. This year marks the 106th season for the National Football League and will be the 60th season in the Super Bowl Era. It’s been seven long months since the Philadelphia Eagles hoisted the Lombardi Trophy for the second time in franchise history. Can the Eagles repeat? Or will a new champion emerge in Santa Clara, California, for Super Bowl 60?

NFL 2024 Season Review
You could say it was a fairly predictable matchup in last year’s Super Bowl. Nobody was surprised that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs were in the Super Bowl again. The Philadelphia Eagles were one of the two best teams in the NFC Conference all season long. Perhaps the only surprising thing about last year’s Super Bowl was how lopsided the victory was for the Eagles. Philadelphia steamrolled the Chiefs by a score of 40-22 in a game that was never even remotely close.
It was another year of heartbreak for the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, who once again failed to defeat the Chiefs in the AFC playoffs. Last year was a coming-out party for rookie quarterbacks like Jayden Daniels, who led the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship game, as well as Bo Nix and Drake Maye.
Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley had the ninth 2,000-yard season in NFL history. Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards and added 283 receiving yards in just sixteen games. Bills quarterback Josh Allen won the NFL MVP award over long-time rival Lamar Jackson. It was Allen’s first MVP award as he led the Bills to a record of 13-4.
So, what does the 2025 NFL Season have on tap? Let’s take a look at some of the better betting markets at online betting sites in Canada for NFL betting.
NFL Divisional Betting 2025
We’ve covered most of the larger market teams, especially those popular in Canada, such as the Buffalo Bills and the Seattle Seahawks. But what about some of the under-the-radar teams that aren’t garnering as much attention from the betting community? Let’s take a look at a couple of long-shot NFL division winners that should be getting more love from bettors at Canadian betting sites.
Houston Texans to Win the AFC South +700
It’s been a tough start to the season for Houston, which enters Week 4 with a record of 0-3. But everyone can see that the Texans are a better team than they have played. A difficult Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams, a come-from-behind victory by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and a tough divisional loss to the Jaguars. With better execution on offence, the Texans could easily be 2-1.
But that’s what has been the problem. The defence has been solid, and a huge part of why the games have been as close as they have been. Houston gave up just 14 points to the Rams, 20 to the Bucs, and 17 to the Jaguars.
The Indianapolis Colts are running away with the division at 3-0. But do we have enough evidence that Daniel Jones can keep this up? Or will we see a regression to the mean? If the Colts come back down to Earth, a regression to the mean would see the Texans start winning with a better offence. At +700, it isn’t a bad bet that the two teams are closer than they are over the next fifteen weeks of action.
Atlanta Falcons to Win the NFC South +500
Stay with us here. Atlanta’s offence has looked anemic in the past couple of games. Michael Penix Jr. seems to have regressed since Week 1 and has put a major ceiling on this offence. But the defence seems to be the best it’s been in years. Atlanta slammed the door on Minnesota, barely lost to Tampa Bay, and had a weird off-game against Carolina.
As with many things at the extreme, the Falcons are probably somewhere in the middle of all of their performances. At the end of the day, they still have one of the best running backs in the game in Bijan Robinson and one of the best wide receivers in Drake London. This offence will get on track when the Falcons begin using their best players.
Tampa Bay has won three come-from-behind games in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter. Can they keep this up? Perhaps, but the defence is weaker than in recent years, and they just lost Mike Evans to a hamstring injury. Like the Colts, the Bucs will likely come back down to Earth during this period, where they play the Philadelphia Eagles, the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Detroit Lions in consecutive weeks.
NFL Super Bowl Outright Betting 2025
Winning the division is one thing, but cashing a ticket for a long-shot Super Bowl winner is something else entirely. Everyone knows who the favourites for the Super Bowl are, but what about some underrated teams that could make a run later in the season? With fifteen more weeks to go, a lot can change on the NFL landscape, and making some early-season bets could pay off if you are ahead of the betting markets.
Los Angeles Rams to Win the Super Bowl +2000
Super Bowl-calibre offence? Check. Super Bowl-calibre defence? Check. Elite coaching staff? Check. Quarterback who has won it all before? Check.
On paper, the Los Angeles Rams have it all. Their only loss so far has come against the Super Bowl Champions from Philadelphia in Week 3, and the Rams dominated that game for three quarters. The NFC West division is up for grabs. The 49ers are decimated by injuries and just lost Nick Bosa for the year. If the Rams can come away with the division once again, they have a serious shot at making a deep run in the playoffs. At +2000 odds, the Rams are worth an early-season ticket in your futures portfolio.
Minnesota Vikings to Win the Super Bowl +4000
Let’s go even deeper on the long-shot odds board. At most Canadian sportsbooks, the Vikings are +4000 to win or lower. They have all of the elements that the Rams have, except for the coach and the quarterback. Sure, these are two important elements, but Head Coach Kevin O’Connell has proven he can lead his team to success, posting a 14-3 record last season.
Quarterback is the biggest question mark for the Vikings. They’d like to go with their second-year man, J.J. McCarthy. Although he is injured right now, McCarthy has shown glimpses of his potential. His backup is Carson Wentz, who handled himself well in his first start with the Vikings.
The team has an incredible defence and one of the best receiver groups in the league, led by Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. If they can figure out their quarterback situation, the Vikings at +4000 to win the Super Bowl isn’t a terrible bet to make, especially compared to some other teams in that range.
