It’s official – Swansea have officially sacked Michael Duff after a string of poor performances that haven’t included a win since the end of October. With Alan Sheehan taking charge on an interim basis, all eyes are turning to the Swansea next manager odds, as a whole host of names are being touted as possible replacements for the newly-departed Duff.

It’s out with the new and in with the newer. Since his appointment in June 2023, a three-year contract in fact, Duff’s successes have been sparse, with just a few 3-0 victories against Sheffield United and Millwall to brag about. Despite Swansea losing a star in the summer, in the form of Joël Piroe, who had scored 41 goals in his 91 appearances for The Swans, nobody truly expected such a weakened run of form, leaving the board with little choice but to sack Duff in an effort to try and recover their chances of the playoff positions this season. So just who is reportedly in-line for the Swansea manager role?
Swansea City Manager Favourites
At the top of the pile is Nathan Jones, the former Southampton manager, who despite being quote vocal about his affinity for rivals Cardiff, is currently priced at 11/8* with BetVictor, meaning a £10 bet would return £23.75. Just behind him at 6/4* odds, with a £10 bet paying out £25, is Chris Davies, currently the senior assistant coach at Tottenham and a former Welsh youth international who was unfortunately forced into medical retirement at just 19. In third place is John Eustace at odds of 3/1*, where a £10 wager would pay £40, who was most recently the manager of Birmingham City until his sacking in October this year. The last strong suggestion on the list is Luke Williams, whose odds of 6/1* would see a £10 bet return £70, but with him currently an active manager at League Two side Notts County, a team who are in the playoff positions at the time of writing, he may be more reluctant to move mid-season. While interim manager Sheehan is on the list, there are quite a few names ahead of him, so his chances seem slim for now.
With upcoming games against Rotherham and Stoke City in the next 7 days, both of whom are currently below Swansea in the table, perhaps this is the time for them to build some impetus and pull themselves away from the relegation zone, which they sit just 5 points above. Whatever the next Swansea City manager odds reveal, the Swans need to take full advantage of their upcoming games to ensure that the next manager has a fighting chance of getting their season back on the right track. For now, all that is left to do is wait patiently and see who the board decide to appoint, and perhaps keep an eye on the next Swansea City Manager odds as they travel to the AESSEAL New York Stadium this Saturday to face league-rivals Rotherham.
