next Morecambe Manager Odds

While manager sackings are no rare feat these days, manager’s leaving on their own accord are, yet that’s exactly what has happened at Morecambe FC. Manager Derek Adams and the board came to an understanding this Monday, agreeing to part ways so that Adams could pursue other opportunities. So what does this mean for a side currently sitting 9th in Football League 2, and more importantly, who will Morecambe look at when it comes to choosing their next manager.

With back to back losses against Grimsby Town and then Blackpool in the Football League trophy, Morecambe’s game against newly promoted Wrexham tomorrow was set to be a big one, yet it is one they will now be undertaking without their regular manager. Coaches John McMahon and Ged Brannan have been tasked with interim management, however Ged Brannan has already admitted he will be interviewing for the permanent appointment when it becomes available. So, with that in mind, who do the bookies think when it comes to the next Morecambe manager odds.

BetVictor prediction of Morecambe Betting Odds

At BetVictor, at the time of writing, there are three main names leading the race, with Brannan edging out the competition at 6/4, meaning a £10 bet would pay £25. Despite having never managed before, Ged’s experience as a player between 2005-2007 for Morecambe, combined with his coaching role there should give him a strong advantage. In second, John Coleman, current manager of Accrington Stanley since 2014, has been given the nod. At 4/1 odds, where a £10 wager would payout £50, his experience would be vital to the club, not to mention his long playing career for them between 1990-1996 has him as a fan favourite, yet it seems difficult to see him leaving for a rival club mid-season. Lastly, we have Gary Bowyer, further out at 8/1, with a £10 bet paying out £90 if correct, who has been out of contract since his sacking from Dundee earlier this year. Having managed several League Two teams, including Salford and Bradford, his experience in the league could be a good fit for Morecambe, as they make their play for the playoff positions in advance of next season.

With several big names in the running, not to mention a few others including Joey Barton just outside the pack leaders, Morecambe will hopefully pull through this blip and tomorrow’s game might even be a good chance for Ged Brannan to show how he can handle the managerial pressure, even as the long outsiders against Wrexham when it comes to the football betting odds. All that is left to do for now is to wait for a decision to be made by the Shrimps board and see who they appoint as their next full-time manager.
