Next Brighton Manager

With just one win in their final 10 games and a terrible April that saw 3-0 defeats to both Bournemouth and Arsenal, with a 4-0 defeat against Manchester City in the middle, it’s little wonder that Brighton and Hove Albion have chosen to part ways with manager De Zerbi, who has been at the club since 2022. Having taken them into the Europa League courtesy of a strong 2022/23 campaign, their latest season hasn’t been as star-spangled and difficulties with Chairman Tony Bloom have done nothing to assist. For now, as we look forwards to next season and what that might bring, let’s have a look at the next Brighton manager odds and see who is odds-on to replace Roberto in the hot seat.

A quick glance at the BetVictor latest odds, at the time of writing, shows three main names at the top of the list, with several others including Liam Rosenior and Graham Potter slightly further afield. In third place, with odds of 10/1, meaning a £10 bet would payout £110, is Russell Martin. Currently the manager of Southampton but on everyone’s radar after a phenomenal 25-game unbeaten run, his near 55% win rate makes him an attractive replacement. In second place, at 4/1, where a £10 wager would return £50, is Francesco Farioli, an Italian manager who has spent just under a year as manager at Nice, taking them to 5th in the table. While he has had less managerial experience, his style could be a good fit for Brighton. At the top of the table, however, is Kieran McKenna with 11/10 odds, so a £10 bet would pay £21 if correct. Currently the manager of Ipswich Town and having overseen a back-to-back promotion for the club, his 57% win rate is impressive and with just 10 league losses in 2 seasons and a huge 56 wins, his credentials speak for themselves. While McKenna would be a major coup for Brighton, he is also being watched by Chelsea and United if rumours are to be believed.

With plenty of time until the next season starts, the managerial board at Brighton and Hove Albion FC need to ensure they choose the next manager carefully. The Seagulls fans have been staunch supporters of Roberto de Zerbi and many have expressed their surprise at the way the sacking has played out. It seems for now that whatever happens next, it is unlikely to be imminent with all three managerial top contenders under contract, likely meaning protracted talks and settlements to be negotiated.
