NAP of the Day – Wednesday 12th June

It was fantastic to get back to winning ways yesterday with a bumper winner! Today we have action at Fontwell over jumps, whilst a busy day on the flat thanks to cards at Yarmouth, Limerick and Hamilton. Kempton is your only all weather meeting.

BHA Top Job Up For Grabs

Arguably one of the hardest jobs in horse racing has come up for grabs. BHA Chief Executive Julie Harrington is set to depart at the end of the year after a challenging four-year period in charge. Quite how much influence this role really has in racing is up for debate, but one thing is for sure its a big job for whoever is set to fill her shoes. We have priced up many potential contenders and please reach out if you want anyone added to the market.

We have plenty of big names from various branches of racing linked with the role, but the early mover was the outgoing Jockey Club CEO Nevin Trusdale initially 8/1 we saw a flurry of activity and have now trimmed him to the clear 3/1 favourite. He is set to leave at the close of the year and has been on the front foot with both the issues presented by Animal Rising and Affordability Checks but also had to battle critics around falling attendances at big meetings. You can see the full market HERE

Nap Of The Day

We are going to head to Fontwell and the three mile two handicap chase, Village Master is seeking to make it five wins in a row but I think Jigginstown King can get the better of the favourite here. A previous winner at Fontwell his mark has now fallen to what looks like a workable position, two respectable runs in the Spring should have him spot on for this test today. A winner off 106 now rated 105 the forecast ground should be perfect for Olly Signy’s horse.
