As ever a busy Thursday of racing with cards all over the show. Jumps action is set for Perth, Warwick, Wexford and Huntington (NAP) whilst Beverly hosts a flat turf card. Finally Chelmsford is your all weather venue.
NAP of the Day
We are going to head to Huntingdon for the NAP where the card opens with a six runner mares novice hurdle. It probably won’t go down as a race for the ages but I think it is some fine placement from Harry Derham with his mare Ascending Lark. Derham is ending the season in fine form with a near 30% strike rate in the last two weeks. After her win at Haydock, the trainer’s comments were really interesting about how she had shown little at home until finally the penny seemed to have dropped recently. That win looks to have some depth to it with Dameofthecotswolds running a fine race at Cheltenham next time out. She has to carry a penalty, but I think she can be expected to follow up from Haydock in this contest today.
