After the busy nature of the Goodwood/Galway mid summer highlight last week, this week has plenty going on but is mostly of a slightly lower grade. Monday we have action at Ripon, Carlisle, Lingfield and Naas. Cork hosts our only jumping action for Monday.
Daily Nap
We head to Lingfield for the seven furlong novice event at 4.45. On paper this race looks a bit of a match between last time out winner Apotheosis and the Andrew Balding trained Upscale. For me I am all over Simon and Ed Crisford’s Apotheosis. There is plenty to like about the win at Haydock, that was just his second start where he showed good mentality to battle, that effort did suggest he would appreciate plenty of pace in a race to be seen at his best which would be a slight concern here. That said the form of that maiden win is really working out. The second Coppull Hall Lane won on his handicap debut next time out, the fourth went on to win a maiden at Redcar. I am expecting a big run from this Night Of Thunder Colt at Lingfield later today.
