NAP of the Day – Monday 12th February

NAP of the day

After a great weekend of racing which saw one of the final chances for horses to book their place at the Cheltenham Festival, we have a slightly more low key start to the week.

Our action today comes from Plumpton, Catterick and Wolverhampton.

Alan King had a great weekend with Edwardstone and Emiton giving him a double at Newbury! His jumps team seem in fair form right now with the yard running at a 28% strike rate in the last two weeks.

He runs HMS President in the two mile maiden hurdle at Plumpton today and the horse has drifted to odds against.

I love to see decent flat horses going jumping and whilst its perhaps late in the day for this seven year old he has on paper the engine required to go hurdling. A winner off 93 at Newmarket last May over one mile six, providing he can take to jumping, he really should be up to winning a race of this nature under Tom Cannon.
