Plenty of racing today with jumping at Exeter, Fontwell, Ballinrobe, Limerick and Ayr (NAP). The Flat returns at Newbury and Bath.
There is plenty of great racing. The 3.45 at Newbury looks a nice pointer towards the Chester Cup next month and is worth a watch as is their opening maiden. I, however, am going to head North for the NAP and look at the first day of Ayr’s Scottish National meeting. The 3.20 is a competitive handicap hurdle with Doddiethegreat set to continue the bounce back of the Nicky Henderson yard. He ran a screamer in the Betfair hurdle before running down the field at the Festival when the yard’s horses weren’t right. I can imagine his owner would love to have a winner at this meeting and I think Doddiethegreat has a great chance of scoring here for Kenny Alexander.
