As the International break draws to a close and Premier League action resumes this Saturday, Manchester United’s future seems to have been the talk of the town. From Kobbie Mainoo’s impressive performances with the England squad, to Gareth Southgate’s potential future after the Euros, there has been no shortage of conversation, least not about the next Manchester United manager odds, even after an impressive display against Liverpool in the FA Cup Quarter Finals.
While Ten Hag has spent several months clinging on to his post, with a few good games to hold the wolves at bay, the integration of Ratcliffe into the decision making process, has led to several people leaving their posts – with others including the United manager also earmarked for the chopping block. Yet perhaps the most intriguing discussion to have surfaced so far, is the potential for England manager, Gareth Southgate, to take the helm with the Red Devils for next season’s action. The last time we wrote about the latest United manager odds, Zinedine Zidane and Julian Nagelsmann were the favourites to take over the role, yet the latest rumours have dramatically changed the prospective odds at most online betting sites. In fact, the top 5 names according to BetVictor, at the time of writing, include neither of these superstars.
With four names all priced at 8/1*, where a £10 bet would see a £90 return, are Graham Potter (most recently at Chelsea), Thomas Tuchel (currently at Bayern Munich), Unai Emery (currently at Aston Villa) and Julen Lopetegui (most recently at Wolverhampton Wanderers). However, in a strong lead at 6/4*, where a £10 wager would pay out £25, is Gareth Southgate OBE. The acting England manager, having been there since 2016, has opted not to comment on the speculation so far, even going so far as to say that the speculation about Ten Hag’s release is ‘disrespectful.’ Yet with the Premier League finishing on the 19th May and the Euros not set to start and finish till a month later, between the 14th June and 14th July 2024, it seems more likely that an extended period of waiting to find out more is on the cards, as neither United nor Southgate are expected to reveal anything in the short term.

With an abominable display the other night against Newcastle as United were dumped out of the EFL Cup 3-0, it’s no wonder that the latest manager name on the chopping block is Erik ten Hag. After a tumultuous start to the season, with United fans up till now blaming the Glazers for both not selling the club and not funding it properly, their recent performances have now made it impossible to turn a blind eye to the awful football they have been playing.
Losing to Arsenal, Tottenham, City and now Newcastle have shown United to be a shadow of their former self, so it’s little wonder that the next Manchester United manager odds have started to creep closer in recent weeks. While the Red Devils are yet to officially sack Ten Hag, it seems to be an almost inevitable coming, as their trip to Craven Cottage to play Fulham on Saturday could well be the straw that breaks the camels back. So just what are the next manager betting markets saying about United’s potential prospects?
According to BetVictor, at the time of writing, long-shot and former United midfielder, Michael Carrick, is on the table at 12/1* and Roberto De Zerbi, Brighton’s current manager, is a step closer at 8/1, however, there are three main names at the top of the list. At 6/1* odds, meaning a £10 bet would pay £70, is Graham Potter, the former Chelsea manager who was dismissed after they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Villa in April. A step closer at 5/1* odds, with a £10 wager paying £60, is Julian Nagelsmann, who was only recently awarded the title of Head Coach for the German national side after being released from Bayern Munich in March this year. At present, leading the race according to the bookies, is none other than the legendary French superstar Zinedine Zidane. With odds of 4/1*, where a £10 bet would return £50, Zidane was an incredibly popular choice during his stints at Real Madrid between 2016-18 and then 2019-21, but famously when asked about Manchester in the past, alluded to the fact that language could be a problem. In fact, he was outspoken in his belief that if he went to a new club, it would be to win and that he would be very selective in his choices. With United in their current form, would he take on such an arduous challenge, albeit for one of the biggest club names in the world?
Whatever Manchester United do next, sticking with Erik ten Hag or choosing to part ways with him rather than risk more turmoil, a club that boasts over 1 billion global fans and an estimated worth of $6bn is going to tempt even the biggest managerial names to the table so stay tuned to our next Man Utd manager odds for more updates as they appear and stay up to date on our Manchester United betting odds.
