Manchester City vs Tottenham
After a resounding performance at the top of the Premier League table, it seems that Tottenham have suffered a blip in their performances, losing all three of their November fixtures. City on the other hand, have played 5 games in November, winning 3 and losing 2 but scoring an astounding 17 goals between them. With that in mind, are the Manchester City vs Tottenham odds as drastically stacked towards City as they could be, or do the bookies think that Tottenham have a chance to overturn their dismal run of form and make a play to get back into the top 4?
According to BetVictor, at the time of writing, Guardiola’s team are, in fact, heavy favourites, with the Manchester City odds to win at 1/4*, meaning a £10 bet would only secure a £12.50 payout if correct. The Tottenham odds of winning are much further afield at 17/2*, where a £10 wager would return £95 if successful. While this may be expected, the fact that the 1st Goalscorer betting market fields 5 Manchester City players before a single Tottenham Hotspurs one is rather more concerning. Son Heung-Min sits at 8/1*, behind Erling Haaland (5/2*), Julian Alvarez (5/1*), Phil Foden (13/2*), Oscar Bobb (15/2*) and Jeremy Doku (15/2*) with Jack Grealish sharing 6th spot at the same odds (8/1*).
So what has caused Tottenham to go into this game as such underdogs? Perhaps the ever-growing list of injuries, that includes senior players such as Maddison, van de Ven, Perisic, Sessegnon and, most recently, Bentancur. Add this to the suspended players, Romero and Bissouma, and it’s not hard to see that Spurs have been heavily impacted by these team changes. Or perhaps it is the fact that Manchester City have the top goalscorer (Haaland) in their side, currently sitting 4 goals ahead of Salah in 2nd. Whatever the case, for Tottenham to come away from this game at the Etihad with any points will be a big ask, so fans may not want to tune in to the 16:30 kick-off this Sunday, or risk being further dismayed by a 4th successive loss after such an incredible early start to the season before.

BetVictor Prediction: With the odds so heavily in City’s favour and Tottenham having an ever-expanding injury and suspension list, we think this one might already be in the bag for the Manchester side. With many of the injuries affecting their defensive line-up, and having watched Chelsea hit four goals past them earlier last month, don’t be surprised at a big scoreline either.
