In a week which saw Aston Villa go within two points of top spot, Manchester City and Tottenham returned to winning ways. Brand ambassador Harry Redknapp gives his Team of the Week.
Alisson Becker
There’s not many better than Alisson, he was top class yet again at the weekend. Liverpool weren’t at their best at Selhurst, they needed their keeper to be at his best. He made a couple of ridiculous saves in this game, including the one right at the end to preserve the lead.
Anel Ahmedhodzic
What a big win that was for Sheffield United, and Ahmedhodzic was their key man. He was wearing the armband again for them and boy, did he lead his side. He made blocks, tackles and just put his body on the line all game. Chris Wilder must have delighted by his performance and to get that new manager bounce.
Diego Carlos
What a week for Villa with wins over City and Arsenal. Diego Carlos was top class in both games. This lad had a bad injury last season, so he feels like a new signing for them and he looks a top player. He was Villa’s best player against Arsenal and dealt with everything that came his way. Him and Torres are forming a strong partnership.
Marcos Senesi
I could have picked 5 or 6 Bournemouth lads in this side, but Marcos Senesi has to be one of them. He was immense in both boxes and was such a rock for a Bournemouth side that’s on a good run of form. He probably would have made my side even without his goal, that was just the icing on the cake!
Vitaliy Mykolenko
Everton are another side in brilliant form and young Mykolenko at left-back is getting better and better. It’s taken him some time to really settle into this side but he’s becoming a very solid defender and is really making that position is own. They’ve had a lot of good left-backs at Goodison down the years, this lad looks like the next.
John McGinn
I’m a big fan of John McGinn. He’s a real throwback player, he does a bit of everything for his side. You can’t get the ball off this lad, he’s so strong and has that low centre of gravity. He’s got a real eye for goal as well, that was a lovely swivel and finish against Arsenal. It could be a historic season for Villa and for their skipper.
Abdoulaye Doucouré
Doucoure has been such a big player for Sean Dyche since he got the job. He’s scored quite a few big goals for them over that time and that opener against Chelsea was no different. That was a very composed finish, a lot of players would have tried to hit that too hard and skied it.
Alex Iwobi
Iwobi is a lad that’s always had talent, always had real potential but it’s just not quite happened for him. He’s been superb for Fulham over the last few weeks. He’s always been very composed on the ball, he’s a classy player. He did everything but score against West Ham, he’d be a top player if he can add some more goals to his game.
Son Heung Min
My star man this week, Son. I thought he was outstanding for Spurs, particularly in that first half. The best compliment that I can give him is that he made Tripper, a fantastic right-back, look average. Whether it’s on his right or his left, he has so much quality and pace, he’s such a dangerous player. He’s having a brilliant season and if he keeps this form up, Spurs will have a great year.
Richarlison
Richarlison’s had so much stick since he signed for Spurs, I was happy for the lad that he got a couple of goals at the weekend. It’s not happened for him in a Spurs shirt yet but don’t forget how good a player this guy is. He was Brazil’s number 9, not any old player can do that! Hopefully he can kick on now.
Dominic Solanke
Solanke’s having a great season for Bournemouth, he was superb at Old Trafford. He’s already scored more this season than he did last, and it looks like he’s finally maximising all that potential he had when he was younger. He’s still young and there’s still plenty time for him to develop into the striker that people thought he was going to be when he was at Chelsea and Liverpool.
