In goal this week, Robin Roefs. To stay up in this league, you need a reliable keeper, someone that can win you points. This lad did just that for Sunderland. He saved a penalty, made a few good saves and was just a good presence throughout the game. He looks a good bit of business.
My right-back has to be Szoboszlai, what a week he’s had it. Obviously, this isn’t his natural position, but he’s been brilliant, and I don’t know how happy he’ll be about it, but he might find himself here more often! The free kick was just sensational, a moment of absolute brilliance in a game that lacked a bit of quality.
My star man this week is Guehi, what a fantastic professional. He’s been absolutely brilliant for Palace despite all the rumours, all the uncertainty. He was magnificent against Villa, and topped it off with that brilliant strike, I didn’t know he could do that! I know Glasner is desperate to keep him and if they do, that could be the best bit of business Palace do. If he does go to Liverpool though, what a great player and great professional they’ll be getting.
I’m picking his partner alongside him, Lacroix. This boy gets in my side quite a lot, I think he’s an excellent player. Him and Guehi form a superb partnership and if they can keep these two together, I think Palace can target a top eight finish. If not, he’ll become the main man at the back for Palace.
I was a big, big fan of Kerkez at Bournemouth, and I thought he had his best game in a Liverpool shirt. He was excellent against Madueke, who is a tricky player to mark. I think this lad is going to be one of the best left-backs in the world.
Bruno Fernandes is going in my side. That was a big moment for him, for Man United and for Ruben Amorim. One thing you can always say about this lad is that he never shies from big pressure situations, he always steps up for his side and more often than not, he delivers.
I’ve said it so many times but where would West Ham be without Jarrod Bowen. Time after time, he steps up and scores or creates big goals for his side. West Ham are lucky that this lad is so loyal to the club because I could see him playing for some of the biggest clubs in the country.
Enzo Fernandez had a good game for Chelsea, scoring and creating one. I think this might be the year we really see this lad at his absolute best; there’s no denying what a top player he is, he’s a World Cup winner after all. I understand Marco Silva’s frustrations though, some of the decisions that went against his side were poor and they ultimately decided this game.
Jack Grealish has made such a positive start to his Everton career. I’m not saying he’s fully back to his best yet, but the early signs are so encouraging, and the lad just seems to be playing with so much freedom again. It’s great to see and I hope he can build on it moving forward.
What a top player Semenyo is, he was brilliant for Bournemouth again at Spurs. That was a fantastic result for the club and this lad is just such a threat for them. I’m really excited to watch this Bournemouth side develop this season, there’s still so much talent in the side and none more so than this lad.
I’m a big fan of Mateta, I think he’s such a talisman in this Palace side. He’s got such presence up there and he’s a very underrated player. I don’t see many strikers out there that are better than this lad, I really like watching him. He seems like a great lad as well and that’s always important.
Manager: I’m going for Graham Potter. There was so much pressure on him, and it felt like if they lost that game to Forest, he might be in serious trouble. To go there and cruise to the win was fantastic. Hopefully this will buy him some time and can give the squad a real lift.
